Hi Scott,

We have now run a new install of DNN 5.6.2. Installed the latest GateKeeper and I still get this error:

There was a problem with your request:
Unable to load download info for parameter [d80850e6-ed97-4401-baee-771648fe6a6f]

I am not sure if this is still the same issue but it seems related to this post.
http://www.smith-consulting.com/Forums/forumid/12/threadid/9786/scope/posts.aspx which comes back to the forum post we are chatting in now.

Cheers,
James

Hi James,
Did you install cart v4.67 in dnn or did you change the field lengths manually in SSMS? Can you confirm that in the "smith_products" table the following fields are defined properly as follows:

DownloadURL - nvarchar(1000)
UrlGUID - varchar(1000)

Also in that the "Smith_AddProducts" and "Smith_UpdateProducts' stored procs have the same definitions. Can you confirm that the DownloadURL and UrlGUID fields are saved properly in your products table and that the data is not truncated.

Hi Scott,

Yes, I have installed 4.6.7 as this apparently would have fixed the bug. This is a brand new DNN installation with a brand new installation of Smith Cart with GateKeeper.

I can confirm

DownloadURL - nvarchar(1000)
UrlGUID - varchar(1000)

Is correct.

If you like, I can send you the login details so that you can log into the site and check it for yoourself?

Thanks,
James

Hi Scott,
I'm having the same problem as "sixfootjames" is having. I updated from a previous version of sc to 4.67, and also updated to dnn 6.0.3 prior to the 4.67 update.

I have confirmed that all the sizes for DownloadURL and UrlGuid in the tables and stored procedures are at 1000 and the database table has not truncated the entries.

My DownloadURL is: "http://test.dotsew.com/swGateKeeper/Download.aspx?g=",
and the Product path is: "/Portals/0/Downloads/sample.pdf", with the autoGenerateGUID checked.
I have tried variations on the DownloadURL and ProductPath to include/exclude the http portal root. If I don't use the gatekeeper and just use the DownloadURL (http clear entry or linkclicks.aspx) the file is always downloaded.

I have tried setting the "Downloads" directory to all users with no effect.

I am using the default setting in the my-setting.aspx and the swGateKeeper-Defaults.aspx files.

I have noticed that in the database table the guid is stored in uppercase while the download link is lower case.

Would firewall settings affect the ability to access the file?

Any thoughts as to what to try next?

Thanks,
Drake.

Hi James,

Programming has setup the Gatekeeper and is currently researching this issue. I will postback with an update as soon as I receive feedback from programming.

Thanks,

Kevin,

The issues we've been experiencing with Smith Cart have been carrying on for months now. We've bought a product that isn't working. Our customer is at risk because their soft products are not being protected.

How long is it going to take to get this solved?

Jacques

Hi Jacques,

We are currently in the process of re-developing the Gatekeeper as a DNN module to allow you access to the setting from your site instead of by editing an ascx file. We estimate this should be complete in about a week.

Thank you for your patience!
