Ref:    Smith Shopping Cart v5.2.0
        SQL Server 2008
        DNN v6.2.2
Setup two pages, "Gallery" for the Buynow module and "Produst Details" for the ProductDetails module.
        Setup one product item.

I first loaded the trial version and everything seem to worked well.

Then I loaded the full version over the top of the trial version.  Now images will not display on the Gallery/Buynow page.

Did a manual uninstall of all modules (took a longggggg time, there must be a better way of doing this) to include tables, procedures, cache and restart of IIS.  Reinstalled shopping cart and still no images on the Gallery/Buynow page.

Removed and reinstalled the entire site including the database.  Fresh install. Images showed up on the Gallery/Buynow page but when going to the Product Details page got the following errors:

Error when logged in:
Error: Smith.ProductDetail is currently unavailable. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Smith.DNN.Modules.ProductDetail.ProductDetails.g() at Smith.DNN.Modules.ProductDetail.ProductDetails.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace

Error when not logged in:
An error has occurred. Error: Smith.ProductDetail is currently unavailable.

The url in both logged in and not logged in is:  http://www.artoflouisiana.com/Gallery...

Finally I set up another completely different site dev.artoflouisiana.com.  Same dnn version and SQL database.  Using the same setup I have the identical results with error on the Product Details page.

Check with the hosting support and they cannot identify any problems with permissions or basic setup.

Many thanks to anyone who might be able to help.

Hi Chris,

Have you set the BuyNow Page Name in the Product Details module settings?

Are there any errors being logged to your DNN Event Viewer?

Try doing the following to see if it fixes the issue on your site:
  1. From the store admin menu, click on the page template button to go into the page template editor and delete all your page templates.
  2. In file explorer, navigate to your \portals\[portalid]\smithcart\tenplates folder
  3. Delete all the files in the \portals\[portalid]\smithcart\templates folder
  4. Reset iis and restart the application from the dnn host menu
  5. Go to product listing page and see if your products are displayed.

Please post back with an update.

Thanks

Kevin, thanks for the reply.  Sorry I'm late with a response but looks like I didn't get a notification about your reply.

Yes I do have the BuyNow page name in the Product Details module set.

I do NOT have any templates set in the Template list.  I do however have templates in the Templates folder.

I tried to add the template for Product Details and am now waiting on an IIS restart.

I also checked the dev.artoflouisiana.com site and there I do NOT have a Templates folder.  So I am adding the Templates folder and waiting on IIS restart.

Seems to me like the installation did not go well on either site or these two things you mentioned should have been done.  Would it be a good idea to do another install/repair over the top of the present installation?

That did not resolve my problem.
First I went to the Template manager where there were no templates listed.
Next I checked the SmithCart > Template folder and there were templates there, I deleted them.
Then I went to Plex, the web site manager for my hosting service, and recycled the application pool.
Then I went back to dnn and restarted the application.
Then I went to the store page (Gallery on my site) and clicked one of the product pictures.  The url when I mouse over an item is: " http://www.artoflouisiana.com/"
"Gallery/ProductDetails/tabid/92/ProductID/2/Default.aspx"

Once again I got the same error.  Thinking it was now necessary I went back and added the templates back into the site.  Still no "details".  I think I will try to remove the templates again and do a reinstall on the site to see if they get recreated or not.
This is the Event Log error:

I haven't heard anything from the forum for a couple days now.  Meanwhile I have completely reinstalled dnn and Smith Shopping Cart numerous time now, followed the quick start guide and the youtube video (step by step).

I reinstalled dnn and then the trial version, again, and the Product Details work just fine.  As far as I can see EVERYTHING works fine with the trial version. When I try to "upgrade" the trial version with the licensed version, no luck (Products page does not display images).  When I try to simply install the licensed version (after a clean reinstall of dnn cause that is quicker then a clean uninstall of Smith Shopping Cart) still no luck.  I have not tried using a different version of dnn.  I haven't considered a faulity install package as there are no error during installation.

I'm just not sure where to go from here.  Surely someone else must have run into this problem or at least someone might be able to give me a couple other ideas to consider.

Hi Chris,

I would like to make sure you are on the latest cart release.

Please download and upgrade to the latest Cart version from the Downloads page;

Full Cart Downloads - Click Here

Trial Downloads - Click Here

If you do not have access to the Cart Downloads Page, please send your Username and OrderID to licensing@smith-consulting.com and we will provide you with access.

Upgrade Note: When upgrading, it is always recommended that you first do the upgrade in a test environment and make sure you have a full backup before installing on your live site in case you need to rollback.

Thanks for the reply Kevin.
The full download link does not work, 404 page not found error.  (The trial download link works.  Of course... I don't need that .)  I will contact licensing.

Is there some reason I am not receiving email notifications on changes to this post?  I checked my profile and have the box checked to be notified of replies to my posts.

Hi Chris,

I just checked your user on our site and it looks like you don't have an email address entered so you must have not entered an email address when you registered for our site on 10/30/2011. I have just updated your profile with the address you submitted a Help Desk Ticket with so you should now receive notifications of forum responses. If you would like a different address please edit your user profile.

Regarding the error you are receiving on the Product Details page, I think we are over-complicating the steps necessary to get your store back up and running. In the future when upgrading to the full version of the Cart, it is not necessary to install the module. After requesting license keys, our licensing Dept. will provide you with your keys to upload to your portal and convert your Cart to the full version.

Please take the following steps to get your back up and running properly:
  1. Perform a clean installation of the Cart using the following link - Click here
  2. Download the Full version of the Cart from the Cart Downloads page - Click here
  3. Install the latest Full version of SmithCart (Do not install the Trial)
  4. Configure the Cart Settings
  5. Test

If still experiencing issue on the Product Details page please take the following steps:
  5. Navigate to the Product Details page and see if your products are displayed correctly.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks again Kevin.  We did an install with the most current version on a new site, had no error during installation, added the license and everything worked as advertised on both the production site and the development site.  Thank you so much for your time and all the help you provided.  Have a great holiday.
