Hi Guys,

We're using MyGate.co.za as our payment gateway company and I've walked through the process with them of setting up the Payment Gateway in Smti hCart using the MyGate Enterprise with 3D Secure option.

When we go through the payment process everything goes well but the guys over at MyGate say that the Settlement Process is not completing as it should. This should be a simple setting to change but I do not see any options for Settlements in the setup properties.

Here's a screenshot of what I have:

Is there something else that needs doing here?

Thanks,
James

Hi James

Is this happening in test mode? What happens on the site? Do you get an order confirmed message on the site? Have you logged in to MyGate and seen what the error / response is? You should be able to log into MyGate and see if the transaction was successful / unsuccessful.

I am also an SA based company, and we are currently in final testing on a site that is also using MyGate Enterprise with 3D. So far in test mode we seem to be fine, both on the site and on MyGate's side.

What version of DNN / SC are you running?

Rgds

Hi Sian,

I was actually on the phone with MyGate at the time of the payment process and everything went through ok. It's the settlement process which is not completing and according to the guys over at MyGate, this may be a setting I might be missing in the setup?

I am using Dnn 5.6.2 and the latest version of SmithCart downloaded from this site.

Cheers,
James

so you enter card details, click submit, and you get a successful order placed message on the site - right? by default, the cart should do automatic settlement - see page 178 of the manual - are you trying to manual settlement? you didn't say if you have accessed MyGate's backend to check the transactions yourself. Have you setup the referring IP number in the MyGate backend? What does the MyGate backend tell you when you drill down through the credit card orders?

Hi Sian,

Thanks again for the help, I will check that page of the document for further instructions. At this stage we are only using the Sandbox security process without use the actual MerchantID. Our client does have an account with MyGate and have written to them and asked for the login details which we hope to have by tomorrow but I did read about setting up the static IP address.

I would have though that the sandbox tests would have mimicked a successful sale before we actually go live.

Will get back to you by tomorrow, in the meantime, I will see if the Smith Guys have anything else to mention on this topic.

Cheers,
James

Hi James,

It looks as though you have the correct settings in the Cart for the Payment Gateway, however how are your Payment Methods configured? Do you by chance have "Authorize Only" enabled?

By default, credit card authorization and settlement happens automatically when a new order is placed. If you want automatic settlement for your shopping cart orders you do not need to do anything.

Authorization and settlement can be configured as a two-step process through the shopping cart module. To setup the cart for manual settlement go to your payment gateway settings, under the payment method setup section and check the checkbox titled “Authorization Only”

Thanks,

Hi Sian and Kevin,

I have gone through the documentation you mentioned Sian and it seems that Authorize Only is unchecked. My understanding of this is that the settlements should then be done automatically at MyGate? However, I have again been on the line with MyGate and gone through the process of buying something and they can see that transaction going through, being successful but that the settlement is not happening automatically.

All of this has been happening in test mode and I am just wondering if that settlement will happen when we actually use the client's actual merchant and application ID (even though at MyGate, they said it should have worked on the test account). From my end everything looks ok. Is there anything else I could be missing?

My next steps will be to use the actual client's details rather than the test accounts and I will get back to you if it all happens correctly.

Cheers,
James

Hi James

To be honest I have always used my clients proper account details (merchant id etc), and when in test mode, using card 411111111111 I get the order authorised and approved from what I can see in the MyGate backend.

Try on your side with their proper account details, check with MyGate and come back to us pls.
