I'm running dnn 06.00.01 with smith cart 4.58. Are there any known issues with IE 9. I just watch on a customers machine as they tried to hit add to cart from the product listing page and it goes to the cart, but doesn't add anything. Also, it doesn't calculate any of the shipping. The strange thing is, I tried it in IE 9 on my machine at home (they are both 64 bit) and it worked fine. Do you know of any issues with IE 9 or any way I could fix it?
Edit* the site is http://chuckswoodbarn.com

Hi Michael,
We have not observed this issue during testing and no one else has reported this issue. Does this happen intermittently or consistently? Also is there anything logged to the even Viewer?
Thanks,

It's consistent on her and another's machine, but only on those. There is nothing in the event viewer.

Hi Michael,
Not sure exactly what the issue is with your site as I cannot reproduce this issue when taking a look at your site as well as on our test portal and seems to be isolated to only the 2 machines you specified. It could be something in your environment hosting or server setup, something unique to the 2 machines you tested on, or maybe something with the Cart has gotten out of the sync. We are available to troubleshoot and try to resolve this issue, although since the cause is an unknown at this point we would have to work on a t&m basis. To get started please review our support options here: http://www.smith-consulting.com/Forum...
Thanks,

Ok, I pinpointed what the issue is. I disabled nortons firewall and internet security and it worked just fine. I have had three people call in with this issue which leads me to believe it's something that won't be happening to everyone, but will be happening to enough people that it's an issue. I suppose people who buy new computers and just use IE 9 because it's installed and use nortons because it comes pre installed and they don't know any better; are going to have this issue. Can you try to reproduce and get a fix. It was a 64 bit machine in IE 9 64 bit with the latest version of nortons.

Hi Michael,
Due to the fact the this issue is caused by Norton's firewall preventing items to be added indicates that there is not an issue with the Cart but with the firewall security settings. The firewall could be preventing a number of possible factors which are not allowing your Cart to function properly such as blocking specific ports for SSL, disabling javascript, or blocking cookies from being downloaded which are all aspects that any website or shopping cart would use. We have seen cases where Norton of McAfee will not even allow a user to surf the internet or even open a file in Windows. I recommend lowering your firewall security to allow the Cart to function properly.
Thanks,

I understand that, but I have had this issue reported to me from 5 different people now. You should understand that having a user try to fix something instead of fixing it on your end is never a good solution. So that means you aren't going to do anything about this? We're a reseller, but I'm not going to continue buying this if every user that has nortons can't use the shopping cart without disabling it.

I googled the issue and found that Norton Internet Security 2011 has known compatibility issues and bugs with ie9. Here is the link with more info

So I got a call from an IT guy who was having the same issue in chrome and safari. He doesn't have nortons installed at all. You can see the proof here. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4979877/ChucksDuplicated.avi . Could you please have your team look into this. I've seen this on 6 machines now, and in 3 different browsers. I'm more than willing to offer any help.

I justed tested your site on my pc and was able to add to cart successfully using ie9, chrome and firefox which leads me to believe its a config issue on the local pc or browser. Try enabling cookies in ie9 to see if you can add to cart. Here is a a link that explains how to enable cookies http://www.timeanddate.com/custom/cookiesie.html
Couple other questions about your server config:
Is your site hosted on a Web farm?
Have you configured your site to store session in the database?

I have verified that this IS NOT a cookie issue. I have also verified this isn't a skin issue as I set everything to the dnn default skin and watched it have the same error. My client had to do 30K worth of business over the phone last week because they are getting tons of calls that this isn't working. WOULD YOU PLEASE look into this. I have had to go back to a restore because this is just broken. I can provide you with a complete backup of the site and DB if you'd like. Just email me.

Sorry, didn't see your other two questions. This isn't on a web farm, it's on a single server, that hosts probably 130 sites. The db server is another physical server itself. I'm not really for sure how I check to see if the session is stored in a DB, how would I go about that?

FYI, I was finally able to reproduce this issue on a machine here at work. It didn't work in IE FF or chrome. I disabled his mcafee and add ons and still no luck. The wierd thing is, I have the exact same machine config win 7 32 bit FF 7 on the same domain and network and it works on my machine fine. However, I have 15 seperate people that have reported this issue to me. I'm going to keep this up on a temp site, but I have to go back to an older version to get this working. Please look into this issue. If you need anything at all from me, let me know.

I've pinpointed this down to me moving data over. I did a fresh install and put in a test product and it works fine. However, when I try to import all of the data from the other database, then I get the error again. I enable identity insert and they are both running the same version of DNN and the shopping cart. I don't really want to have to move all of this manually. PLEASE HELP.

You can see the issue here. chucks.intellicomweb.com. I had to revert back because this isn't working. The newest version works fine in DNN 5.6 so it must be a 6.0 thing. Can you take a look into it and see if you can get it fixed, I can't upgrade until this issue is resolved. It has to do with importing the data from my older version (it was still 4 something). I can provide a website backup.
