Site DNN Version 06.00.02 (72)

Smith Cart - 4.60.0

Need to setup a flat rate to all USA and then fixed rate by order amount to international shipping.

So, if they ship to U.S. it's fixed at $10.00 no matter the amount.

But if they order international shipping, then order amount. All orders under $300 will be fixed at $25.00 and all international orders over $300.00 will be fixed at $50.00.

How do I do this? Thanks!

Hello,

You could use the Shipping Zone feature. Shipping Zone Management allows you to define shipping zones as follows:

  • By Country ( single and multi)
  • By Country and/or State/Region  ( single and multi)
  • By Home Country and all other Countries (International)
  • with custom ship methods
  • and by weight or by quanty

However, unfortunately the zone shipping with fixed shipping amounts is not currently supported, although the cart does support the following shipping configs that may work for you:

  • Shipping Calculator
  • Custom Ship Methods with Fixed Amounts – Displays custom shipping methods with fixed amounts in user selectable list on the cart screen.  To create your custom ship methods with amounts in the store admin menu, shipping option.
  • Custom Ship Methods by Order Amount – To charge shipping based on the total order amount of the items in the cart and ship method.  Displays a dropdown list to the user on the cart page.  To configure ship methods by order amount click the shipping button on the store admin menu.
  • Shipping by Order Amount – Charges shipping based on the total order amount of the items in the cart.  No dropdown list presented to the user shipping is auto calculated.

If is a requirement for your project  please send an email with a link to this post to sales@smith-consulting.com and we can provide a quote to add this feature.

Thanks,

Ok, so I tried to set it up for Zone Shipping By Quantity.
In my Custom Shipping Methods I setup a Flat Rate
In my Zones I setup 2 zones, one for US and selected United States - All States
And then one "Outside USA" and selected "All Countries."
In my Shipping by Quantity I setup

Zone Ship Method Category Order Quantity From Order Quantity To Shipping Cost
USA Flate Rate All Categories 1 1000 10.00 Edit Delete
Outside USA Flate Rate All Categories 1 10 25.00 Edit Delete
Outside USA Flate Rate All Categories 11 1000 50.00 Edit Delete

And when I add anything to the cart, this is the error.

Cart page - No Shipping configured please configure shipping DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: startIndex ---> System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: startIndex at System.String.InternalSubStringWithChecks(Int32 startIndex, Int32 length, Boolean fAlwaysCopy) at Smith.DNN.Modules.BuyNow.Cart.ddlShipping_DataBound(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.OnDataBound(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListControl.PerformSelect() at Smith.DNN.Modules.BuyNow.Cart.BindCustomShipMethodsBy() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Hello,

Please attach a screenshot of your Shipping Method screens and I will configure our test portal the same way to determine the issue.

Thanks,

Here are screenshots of the custom methods, zones and quantity pages. Since it wasn't working, I changed the cart to be just "by quantity"

Hey, I just had the same error message:

Cart page - No Shipping configured please configure shipping DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: startIndex ---> System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Parameter name: startIndex at System.String.InternalSubStringWithChecks(Int32 startIndex, Int32 length, Boolean fAlwaysCopy) at Smith.DNN.Modules.BuyNow.Cart.ddlShipping_DataBound(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.OnDataBound(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.WebControls.ListControl.PerformSelect() at System.Web.UI.WebControls.BaseDataBoundControl.DataBind() at Smith.DNN.Modules.BuyNow.Cart.BindCustomShipMethodsBy() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I am trying to get my shipping figured out and just switched from Custom Fixed to Custom by Zip. I had an item in my cart, and when I go to view the cart I get this error as well.

DNN 6.0.2/Cart 4.60

Just happened, still testing to see what the deal is. I am assuming switching around shipping methods, or the fact that I had things in the cart are contributing.

A few more details. When I switched back to Custom Fixed, it worked again. I was able to empty my cart (thinking that might be part of it, turns out it's not). Then switched back to Custom by Zip, and still get the error message.

For fun, I used the UI to delete all my existing zip codes and custom methods, and recreated them. No help.

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in response, it took some time to think about the fairly complicated Shipping setup you are attempting. What we have determined, is that the ability to configure both Shipping Zones with Fixed Amounts as well applying a Shipping Amount with Shipping Zones determined by the by Order Amount cannot currently be combined. You can either set the a Custom Shipping Amount by Zip Code or by Order Amount but not both. If you would like to be provided with a quote to add the ability to combine these 2 Custom Shipping options please send an email with a link to your this forum post to sales@smith-consulting.com.

Thanks,

Jamie,

Is the Custom Methods by Zip Code still giving you trouble?

Thanks,
