So I just found out that all these customers I'm taking orders for were never charged because the "Settle Credit Card" button on the orders page apparently does nothing. A trip to my authorize.net merchant login verifies this. But then again even if it did, I'd probably have no way of knowing from smith cart because the settle button stay aftering supposedly settling. I get the "Transaction successfully settled", but no alas... no settling.

Which version of the Cart and DNN are you running?

Please post a screenshot of your Cart Settings and I will attempt to replicate this issue on our test portal.

v6.0.1 and smith cart v 4.60. I have it set to authorize only, however I thought that only applied to the transaction itself so I wasn't immediately withdrawling funds from customers accounts. Perhaps I'm wrong?

You have it correct, authorize only transactions just lock the funds on the credit card usually for 7-10 days. Settlement or sometimes called capture is what actually moves the money from the cc to your bank account. Most stores have their payment gateway configured for auto settle so the auth and settle happens in one step and you dont have to manually click the settle button for each transaction in the manage order detail screen.
