I just upgraded from 2.88 to 2.90. I have cleared the cache, my local browser temp files, and restarted the application. When I go to a product page and click on a variant, I get the following error:

Am I going to have to start over again? This didn't happen in 2.88 after I made the table id changes.

I think when you exported the module in dnn and changed the tabid manually in the database most likely is causing the issue you reported. If you want to move the module the easiest way is to rename the page

I think I will start over again. The page exception didn't occur after I made the manual changes, but only after the upgrade. Something didn't agree with the changes.

Ok. It wasn't the changing of the cart table id manually. I destroyed all my pages, uninstalled all the Smith Modules, detroyed all the smith tables in Management Studio so it's a completely clean install. I install 2.90 there are no errors on the install. I add back my products and manually add in my variants and the same error occurs:

An error has occurred.

Now what? I am getting really good at installing this stuff. I wish it would go smoother.

I destroyed my site again today for the 4th time to perform a clean install of 2.88 again. I would have tried 2.89, but that was not available. I have my variants working again. There is no error as listed above. Please let me know when you have fixed 2.90. Thank you.

This is what I mean by "Fix 2.90" . When I clean uninstalled my Cart a couple times today, I discovered the the Page load exception that occurs when I choose a variant on my Product page isn't in 2.88 (a clean install) but does occur in 2.90. Here is the text of the error again:

Ok. It wasn't the changing of the cart table id manually. I destroyed all my pages, uninstalled all the Smith Modules, detroyed all the smith tables in Management Studio so it's a completely clean install. I install 2.90 there are no errors on the install. You had suggested that the error occurred because I changed the Table Id manually. That cost me the day to track down an error that has nothing to do with that behind the scenes change. I know that because I completely destroyed my site and did a clean install of 2.90 and the error occurred. I destroyed my site again and reinstalled 2.88 since I can't get historical downloads on your download page and the error didn't occur. Since the manual change was destroyed by the clean uninstall and then a full new install for 2.90 with error. 2.88 without error after another clean unistall and reinstall without any errors I conclude based on my design of experiments class during my PhD that the bug was part of 2.90. Was it in 2.89? I don't know. I did get that one. That's what I mean by "Fix 2.90".

Got it. Just to confirm, the error happens when you navigate to the product details page and the product has variants. In version 2.9 we added the option to add the product summary to the product details page so maybe that is what is causing the error. Thanks for your time and feedback.

Yes that is the path. I wish I didn't have to spend so much time running down the bugs. I hope I don't lose this new customer as I'm pretty sure I'm not getting this all done by next week.

Art,

I apologize for the bug in version 2.9 I will make sure we test better before the next build there are so many features in the cart now with hundreds of test scenarios. I will add the historical builds with release dates to the download page so they are availible for download and mark the current build as beta until a proper beta test period has elapsed. In the future after your store goes live I recommend installing the latest build on a test install to make its everything is working for you before installing it on your live site.

I am testing this right now and I see the issue just want to confirm one more item. The issue only occurs only when you click the options button from the featured products module. From the buynow module everything is working. From the featured products module when I click the thumbnail and product name links it works. From the featured products module when i click the options button is when i see the error.

Hi Scott,

I don't know for sure if the bug shows up or not from the Buy Now page. I didn't try that.

Hi Scott,

I upgraded to 2.90, added my variants, and the bug is still occurring. The error is:

An error has occurred.

If it helps, the error didn't occur right after I upgraded, only after I added new variants.

Please take a look. Thanks.
