I have a list of products on my website and want to associate a coupon code to most of them, but not all. On the products I do not want to have a coupon code associated with, I checked the 'Exclude Coupons' button within the Product Administration menu for that product. But when I go to the shopping cart to checkout and test, I enter a coupon code (which I do NOT want to take affect, since I checked the exclude coupon button for that product) and it still applies the discount on that product. What can I do now?

Kevin,
I gave you the current version of DNN above. I am running SmithCart v3.88.0
Tonight I am going to upgrade to DNN v6.1.1
I hope I can get this resolved before the Holidays. Thank you for your attention.
Will

I Will,
SmithCart v.3.88 is not compatible with DNN 6+. I would recommend first upgrading your Cart to the latest version before upgrading your DNN installation to DNN 6. Also since you are upgrading from Cart v.3.88. I would recommend a clean install of the module to avoid any complications with the upgrade gap between versions.
Thanks,

Kevin,
Thank you. I caught my developer in time and relayed your instructions. He is very thankful, as it seems it is necessary for him to do more of these particular upgrades. I assume, bottome line, that the 'exclude coupons' click box in the product admin settings will work when these upgrades have been completed?
Thank you again,
Will Williams

Kevin,
We loaded SmithCart 4.67 on DNN 6.1.1 and overall, I am very pleased with the new upgrades. However, 'exclude coupons' still does not work. Very frustrating.
I have checked the coupon setup area on the Store Admin Menu, on the Manage Cart Settings Menu, and in the Product Administration Menu.
In the Stroe Admin Menu, under Manage Coupons, I have a percentage discount for a particular group. When editing that group, I have listed the percentage discount and the expiration date along with the name of the group. Everything else (Order/Product Level Coupons is left blank)
In the Manage Cart Settings Menu, under Coupon and Discount Setup, I have Show Coupons (since I have other products which I want to apply a coupon). Then below that I have, under Discounts - Enable Order Level Discounts By Role and below that, under Member Pricing and Discounts - Enable Member Discount Percent By Role (which when checked pops up two settings - I'm glad I found those, since at first, I had set the settings to No Discounts and No Member Pricing, but when testing the shopping cart I was getting a Member Discount listed with the charges -by checking Enable Member Discount Percent By Role, and putting a 0 in the percentage box, I seem to have solved that problem.)
Finally, in the Product Administration Menu, I edited a single product by clicking the button next to the 'exclude coupons' option and saved it, but when I go to the shopping cart and apply a coupon code to that product, it still calculates the discount!!
I look forward to your repsonse.
Thank you,
Will

Hi Will,
I have been able to replicate the issue you reported with the coupon discount percentage being applied to all items in the Cart when the Exclude Coupon feature is enabled for selected products, this issue however does not exist when using a coupon with the Coupon Amount configured instead of the Discount Percentage. I will send this issue into programming and will post back as soon as an update is available.
In regards to your Member Pricing and Discounts Setup, do you have Member Pricing setup? If not, you can configure that section for "No Discounts" and "No Member Pricing" and the coupons can still be applied to the order as long as "Show Coupons" is enabled.
Thanks,

Thank you Kevin,
I will re-think using the amount vs percentage and work around until you guys update. I'm glad we found it.
In regard to Member Pricing and Discount Setup; it seems that when first developing the site, I experimented with a Membership Role with a discount applied. My developer (who taught me how to run my own site) probably plugged that discount (5%) in during the early days of development. But, a Membership Discount (5%) was showing up in the checkout area whenever I would bring a product to the cart. And, becasue it was a 'sub' menu of Member Pricing and Discounts, the menu ONLY appearing when you clicked on that option, that I discovered a value associated with the Membership Role (5%). I changed it back to "0" and it fixed it so it would no longer show up automatically in the checkoout area.
I wanted to note that I did go to the No Discounts and to No Member Pricing checkmarks originally when trying to troubleshoot the coupon issue. When I clicked on those options, one would think they would have eliminated the Member Pricing and Discounts recognition of the values that were set there and it should have never shown up in the checkout area after those specific buttons were activated. Does that make sense?
Just wanted you to maybe go take a look at that as well.
Thank you for this terrific support.
Will

Kevin,
Thank you for your last post. I will appreciate hearing from you when that fix is available, as it has impact. I am going to see if changing to a static discount will suffice for now.
I also have noticed that Windows Live Writer has stopped posting to my blog. I am using wlw 2011 and had a relationship with my site until we upgraded to 6.1.1. Do you know if there has been any mention of this issue?
Thank you.
Will

Did they ever get the "Exclude Coupon" thing working for % discounts?
I have SmithCart 3.88 on DNN 5.06.

Hi Tony,
To confirm the issue is fixed in the latest version of the cart v.4.92 you can download the trial version from the following link and then upgrade to the latest build to fix the issue. As always, we recommend first doing the upgrade in a test environment and make sure you have a full backup before installing on your live site just in case you have you need to rollback.

I don't understand why we'd want a trial of 4.9.2.. We have the full 3.88, can't it be fixed in that? Or do you mean if we install the upgrade/trial, our license that we have will make it "full version".??

Hi Tony,
We release new versions to rectify any bugs so it is important to ensure you are running the latest software. Issues that have already been resolved in current builds cannot be easily patched in older versions and may require an upgrade to the latest build. Our support department cannot provide custom bug fixes for obsolete builds or customized deployments.
Thanks,
