We have selected "ounces" for the "Weight Unit of Measure" in the admin's settings and entered 7 (for 7 ounces) for a book's weight and we have the shipping set to USPS Parcel Post, Media Mail, First Class and Priority Mail in the cart's settings. When we go to try a test order and calculate shipping we're getting a high result for the shipping cost. (for shipping within the same city we're getting $5.10 when it should be a few dollars instead). Is there something we need to do to make sure it's using ounces and not pounds besides what we've already done? Like do we need to enter in any values in the "manage shipping" area too of the admin section? Or is this a bug?
I also noticed on page 124 of the manual that it says:
----------------
The weight field can be entered in any unit of measure you like unless you have configured your store to use the “Real Time Shipping Calculator” in the BuyNow module settings. UPS, USPS, FedEx, Canada Post and Australia Post are the carriers used by the real time shipping calculator. If you configured your store to use the real time shipping calculator then weight should be entered as pounds. If you enter a weight greater than zero the shipping calculator will calculate real time shipping costs. If you enter zero for your product weight than no shipping will be charged for that product when checking out. If the weight of the all the products in the cart is zero, then the cart will not charge shipping costs.
----------------
So I can't use the real time shipping calculator for anything that isn't a whole number and anything less than 1 pound? (ie 7 ounces)? Because in the BuyNow module settings it has a place for choosing between pounds and ounces and grams. Thanks for any help on clarifying this!
I'm using DNN Community Edition 5.06.00 (459) on Windows Server 2008 with asp.net 4.0 and Smith Cart version 4.67.0.
Thanks!
