Hello,

Im wondering if its possible to have the customer view their cart before requiring them to login. I have read through the SmithCart User manual, and tried all of the different settings but I always get the same result.

It requires me to login immediately after adding an item to the cart, but I would like to have the user login as the last step before being sent to PayPal Standard for payment.

Please let me know if this is possible, because according to the user manual it should be - so either im reading it wrong or something else is not working.

DNN Version: 5.5.1
Cart version: 4.86

Hi Ricky,

In the SIGN IN/REGISTRATION PAGE SETUP section of your Cart Settings, select the "Show Sign In Page" and enable the "Require Login" option. The user will be able to add products to and view their cart and upon clicking the "Proceed to Checkout" button on the Cart page, the user will be prompted to login or register.

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

I appreciate the response. I have already been using those exact settings, and I do not get the desired result. I read the user manual, and selected the settings you mention. I just double checked it again, and Require Login is enabled, as well as Show Sign in Page.

Currently, when someone adds a product to their cart, they are immediately asked to sign in.
Could there be another setting which is over-riding the desired resultÉ

Hi Ricky,

Are you adding products to the Cart from the Product Listing or Product Details module?

The Product Details module also has the "Add To Cart Requires Login" feature, which can be found in the ProductDetails module settings.

Thanks,

Thanks Kevin, that was the issue.
I find its easy to forget that the Details page has a separate settings area from the main BuyNow cart settings.
