SC 4.86 / dnn 6.1.2 hosted on PowerDNN

When I attempt to export my orders for QucikBooks (which was the primary reason I choose SC) I am encountering the following errors.

In IE9 when I click on the QuickBooks Export button, I am shown my orders orrectly.  If I click on the xport Customer button, I am prompted to save the customer.csv file. If I click on the Export Orders button, the screen changes to the Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage error screen. If I attempt to export the orders in Firefox 8, i get the dialog box prompting me to open or save the .iif file, but that is immediately followed by an error message which reads,

C:\Users\Steve\Downloads\Upload_02132012.iif could not be saved, because an unknown error occurred. - Try saving to a different location.

I also have an issue where I set up product discounts based on a user role. The only problem is that the discount appears if even if the user does not have that role assigned.

I recently upgraded SC from the trial version of 4.63 to 4.86 full version, and thought that maybe this might be the cause of the problems. So I did a complete uninstall of SC, deleted all remaining files and deleted any tables in the database prefaced with Smith. I then did a clean install of 4.86, and am still having these problems.

Hi Steve,

I have tried to replicate this issue on our test portal with Chrome, IE(, and Firefox and I have not been able to replicate the behavior you describe above.

Who is your hosting provider?

What firewall are you using? The firewall could be preventing a number of possible factors which are not allowing your Cart to function properly such as blocking specific ports for SSL, disabling javascript, or blocking cookies from being downloaded which are all aspects that any website or shopping cart would use.

Can you login to our test site http://www21.smith-consulting.com/ and try to replicate the error. This will determine if the issue is with the latest version of the cart or an issue with your specific dnn portal/cart install.

Send an email to kevin@smith-consulting.com if login credentials are needed.

Thanks,

Kevin,

I am using PowerDNN to host the site.

Firewall? On the serverside - don't know. On the client side - None. SSL ports are open as I can access the https pages on the site. Javascript and cookies are not blocked as I have no trouble accessing pages on this and different sites that contain both of these. The problem occures no matter where the client is located.

It seems strange that I can download the Customer list, but not the Order list. It should be the same procedure but with a different file extension.

What would the login for the test site be? I tried creating an account, but that does not give me admin rights to the cart pages.

Steve

Kevin,

I have logged into the test site with the credentials that you provided me.  I have compared setting between the test cart and my cart, and most settings are the same.  You mentioned that you tried to recreate the issue on the test site as I just did.  The only problem is that I cannot fully recreate/test this scenario because I cannot enable SSL on the test portal, nor can I set the secure setting on the page.  My site is using SSL, and the page that the BuyNow module resides on is secure and using https.  This is the only difference that I can see between the sites that might make a difference.

As I mentioned, I am hosting this site on PowerDNN.  I know that they provide an enterprise version of SmithCart to their users that purchase the next hosting tier up. Since they provide SmithCart as their default e-commerce solution, I can only imagine their servers and firewalls are configured correctly to utilize the SmithCart Module.  Also on the test site, I can export the Orders through the Quickbooks Export feature, so this would indicate that my firewall and client/browser configurations are set correctly as well.

So if the PowerDNN servers/firewalls are setup correctly, if my client/firewalls settings are correct so that I can download the file from the test site, that once again takes us back to the only noticeable difference I can see, and that is having SSL enable on the site and page. That and the fact that the test site is using SC 4.88 where mine is using 4.86  I really need to get this one resolved, or I will have to scrap SmithCart as my customer want a cart that will export orders in Quickbooks format.

Steve

Hi Steve,

If the only difference between our test portal and yours is SSL, please see the forum post found at following link to confirm you have enabled SSL on your site correctly:

Thanks,

Kevin,

Thanks for working on this one for me.

I have verified SSL settings prior to your post, but played with the settings again clearing out the cache and restarting the application after making an adjustment. Changes to the SSL settings has no impact on the QuickBooks Export Order feature not working.  It seems strange that all of the other export features work but this one.

Not really sure where to go from here.

Hi Steve,

It appears that either something in your module has gotten out of sync or may be caused by an issue with your environment (hosting, server, iis, etc) as we have not been able to replicate these issues on our test portals. To verify this, you can create a fresh DNN sandbox on your desktop or laptop using the following link and install SmithCart so you can verify correct behavior which should isolate the issue as being in the Cart or your server/DNN portal setup.

Thanks,
