Does the free trial work with PayPal's sandbox? I entered my credentials and tried, but I get an error when I try and try to purchase a product. It keeps telling me that my credentials are invalid.

Hello,

Yes the trial version works with th PayPal sandbox. The trial version of the Cart limits the display to 7 products and displays a small trial message at the bottom of the screen other than that it is a fully functional cart.

Which version of the Cart and DNN are you currently running?

Thanks,

I just downloaded the most recent version of your shopping cart. I am using DNN 6.1.3.

So, it sounds like I am configuring incorrectly. Here is what I have:

When I go to PayPal's sandbox and login, I go the "API credentials" section and use that info in the payment gateway setup. I also have test mode selected (tried both, neither work).

I also have a test buyer account that I try to use to purchase a prouduct. I keep getting a message:

We couldn't complete your payment.

Status : failure
Message : Invalid Configuration

Hello,

Have you configured your Payment Setup in through the Admin Menu of SmithCart?

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure I have the Sandbox account set up properly. But I'm not sure I have the Gateway configured correctly. I believe PayPal is either trying to tell me that I'm not entering the right CVV code, or I don't have the IP address added as an allowed IP. I can't figure out where to get either one. Sometimes I really hate PayPal. I can never find anything.

Hello,

I am not referring to the PayPal sandbox, I am referring to the Payment Setup section of the SmithCart Admin Menu.

Could you please post a screenshot of your Payment Gateway setup in the Cart?

Thanks,

We do not have our Pro account set up yet, so I'm just trying to get the Sandbox working so I can begin testing. It should work the same. Sorry, it will not allow me to upload images.

Hello,

Please see the instructions in Payment Setup section on Pg. 17 of the SmithCart Manual here: http://www.smith-consulting.com/Porta...

How have you configured the Payment Setup section in SmithCart?

Thanks,

Yes, I configured the Payment setup in the SmithCart admin. I believe I was using the wrong merchant account login and password (the PayPal system is so confusing, especially the sandobox). I also reset my test accounts, so I think I am ok now. But it is still not working.

Heres my question: In the cart payment gateway configuration, if I select PayPal Website Payments Pro and tick "Test Mode", is it going to the production system or the sandbox system? If it's still going to production but just not actually submitting the orders, then that's my problem. If this is the case, then what setting can I use so I can test using the sandbox?

Hello,

If Test Mode is enabled, the Cart will process the transaction through the sandbox.

The PayPal Website Payments Pro gateway uses a dll from PayPal that requires a full trust environment. Are you running your dnn portal in full trust?

Also, have you generated your API credentials and test credit card in the sandbox environment?

Thanks,

Ok, it's good to know that it is going to the sandbox. I generated my API credentials and test card in the sandbox area as well. However, I do not know about the full trust environment. How do I do that? That might be why I get the Security message now, not the configuration message I was originally getting. How do I install the DLL and run in full trust?

I believe you will find the following forum post on Paypal integrations and full trust helpful:

Unfortunately, I am still getting the security error message when I try to submit an order.

You mention a DLL. Where do I get that? I cannot find that info on PayPal.

This transaction cannot be processed due to an invalid merchant configuration occurs when you have not agreed to the billing agreement. Please see the following post: http://www.smith-consulting.com/Forum...

If you search this message in the paypal guide you will see a description of the message:
