Hi
I downloaded the trial smith carts, installed on DNN 6.2 and read the guide and the manual ..
I can not figure out how to set up several small shops .. type mall ..
I have to create many roles according to the producers? I tie the window manufacturer ID?
I have the need to have a single portal showcases several different manufacturers and that each producer can sell its conditions of sale and its payment ..
is this possible?
thanks

Laura

Hi Laura,

Currently, in Smith Cart you can add mutiple BuyNow modules on different pages in your portal allowing you to create several "Stores" by manufacturer with unique products or products shared across buynow modules (Stores).  Currently, Smith Cart only supports the store admin uploading products to the store.

Do you also need the following features?

• Ability for product(s) to be uploaded and managed by a third party vendor.
• Ability for a vendor to review their sales and orders
• Ability to pay vendors commission on their store sales

Thanks,

Hi
is, in fact, the idea is to make self-loading of the products by the manufacturer .. each store is independent from management, transportation, sale and payment.
each page will have its own display case manufacturer and his shop while having in general a showcase portal.
The problem that I wonder .. You can make a standard configuration for each instance of smith cart and replicate it for each activation module on different pages .. to avoid having to configure the module every time? You can then customize it to the demands and needs of the producer? order to enable a manufacturer to manage only his store should be assigned a single role?
I can have a general control over all the shops open?
serve other additional modules to handle the multi store?
thanks
Laura

Hi Laura,

Currently, with multiple BuyNow modues you have the option of either sharing your Products between the modules or make them separate.

When setting up categories and products there is a “Share” checkbox that applies if you have added more than one cart module on different pages in your portal. If the Share checkbox is not checked then Categories or Products added to the BuyNow module will remain separate for the other BuyNow modules.

Additionally, the settings for payment gateway, tax, shipping etc. can all run independently as well. However all BuyNow modules within the same portal will share order history.

Hope this helps!

Hi Kevin,

Thanks, I really appreciate your help, but maybe we should start over.

I want to build a community portal, using DNN 6.2, where some members would be able to completely manage their own store.

How can I do that ?

How can I see/find, for commercial reason, the all stores in the portal ?

Thanks again for your help, and I hope that this time I make clear my point.

Greetings

Hi Laura,

All BuyNow modules located within the same portal will share order history.

If you would like each BuyNow module (store) to be completely separate the solution would be to create a child portal and use the "Cross Portal Share Type" feature located in the Cart Settings. The Cross Portal Share Type feature defines multi portal order sharing. When "Master Portal" is selected the current BuyNow module will be tagged as the master portal and will be able to view orders for all child portals within your DNN installation. When "Child Portal" is selected the current BuyNow module will be tagged as a child portal and will only be able to view child portal orders.

Hope this helps!
