Hello,
I've configured my store to use Zone shipping by Weight. I've configured 2 Primary shipping methods, and several zones within Canada.
When I use a canadian zip code, the checkout screen offers me 5 different choices for shipping, and all at different rates. However, it should be showing only 2 choices which are the 2 shipping methods.
Once Calculate shipping gets selected, it then changes to Free Shipping. The free shipping should only apply to over $60, but it applies even if its under that amount.
Any help is appreciated.

Hello,
In order to help troubleshoot this issue please provide the following:
- A screen shot of your buynow settings; General, shipping and tax sections
- Screenshots of Shipping Management screens: Custom Shipping Methods, Shipping Zone Regions, and Shipping By Weight screens
- The weights of the Products in question you are calculating shipping on
- The "From" and "To" shipping addresses of the order
- A screen shot of the Cart page after you have calculated shipping showing the shipping costs returned
Thanks.

As I was taking the screen shots, I noticed that under Product Setup > Inventory Configuration, the weight is set to 1 LB which is way above what it should be. Each product should be .10 lb because its 48 grams per box.
However, when I enter anything less than 1 lb it tells me that it is an invalid weight. This could be what is causing the issues.

Is there a way to reduce the item weight below 1 lb?

Hello,
Depending on which Shipping Method is selected will depend on which Unit Of Measure the cart uses to calculate shipping.
How do you have the Shipping and Handling Setup section of the Cart Settings configured?
Thanks

Currently we are using Zone Shipping By Weight.
However, I would like to offer 2 types of shipping and therefore have 2 custom ship methods. Is it not possible to ship by zone, weight and use 2 methods....?
Also, I realize that the cart uses lbs but it will not allow me to set product weights of less than 1lb.

I've double and triple checked my settings but found nothing.
Any other suggestions?

Hello,
The Cart does not always use Lbs. Since you are using Zone Shipping By Weight, you can enter the Product weight in which ever Unit of Measure you choose and the Cart will calculate shipping based on the your Shipping Zone. Are you looking to enter fractional decimal amounts?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "ship by zone, weight and use 2 methods"
When using Shipping Zones by Weight, the cart will charge shipping based on predefined zones (Locale -Country/State/Region) based on the total weight of the items in the cart and ship method. If you would like to offer multiple Shipping methods for the same Shipping Zone and By Weight range, you will need to assign the Shipping Method to the same Zone to the Weight range.
Hope this helps!
Thanks

Hi Kevin,
Where can I change the weight from lbs to oz or grams?
When I go to the Product Setup page for any product, under Inventory Stock Configuration it says Weight (lbs): 1
If I was to stick with that measurement, then our product weighs around 0.1 lbs but it won't allow me to enter this as a weight. The tooltip even says that this is the weight used to calculate shipping at checkout. We use 3 variants per product, and the first variant weighs 0.00 while the 2nd and 3rd variants are heavier bundles.
This is why I want the Inventory Stock Configuration weight to be correct, otherwise it throws off ALL of our variants.
It sounds like from what you say there is a way to chance the default unit of measurement. How do I do that?
EDIT: Also, I'm not convinced that this will resolve the issue I am having where you choose 1 of the 2 shipping methods at checkout, and then once you 'calculate' shipping it changes to Free Shipping even when the order total is less than $60.

Hello,
You can enter the Product Weight on the Product Setup screen in lbs to oz or grams. The "Lbs" that you see is only the label and this has been corrected in the next release.
Since you are using Zone Shipping By Weight, you can enter the Product weight in which ever Unit of Measure you choose and the Cart will calculate shipping based on your Zone Shipping By Weight ranges. Are you looking to enter fractional decimal amounts?
Thanks

Yes - I would like the ability to enter a fractional oz weight (1.69 oz), since both the shipping set up and variants allow for this.

However, this doesn't address the issue I'm having with Free Shipping.
Perhaps I should make two different topics?

Somehow the webstore is still charging for shipping at the right amount, even though at checkout it says FREE SHIPPING instead of giving the shipping total.
Also, when the order is completed and I goto look at it under Manage Orders - it shows $7.00 charged for shipping, yet under Ship Method it says FREE SHIPPING.
How is this possible?
