Hi, Has anyone else had problems with the Payment Setup? Apparently Google has changed the test system from using the sandbox so the instructions in the Smith Cart Manual are no longer applicable - see https://groups.google.com/forum/?from... for more information - the new method is here http://googleadsdeveloper.blogspot.co...

Also, on page 23 of the SmithshoppingcartmanualV5.0 under the heading of Payment checkout Options it describes how to show multiple checkout options - we need both Google Checkout and Paypal, but once I select Google Checkout as the Payment Gateway these option disappear.

At the moment, at the final stage of purchase, nothing at all happens, there is a box showing payment method is Google Checkout, but when I click to complete the payment nothing happens at all. I have entered the ID, Key and API call back information as per the manual.

Grateful for any ideas

Glynis

Hi Glynis,

There are 2 different types of integrations that almost all the payment gateway companies offer; Direct and Hosted Payment Pages defined as follows:
Direct Integrations - A direct payment gateway integration is where the user stays on your web site throughout the entire Smith Cart checkout process and the user enters their credit on your web site.

Hosted Payment Pages - The user is redirected to the payment gateway hosted payment page and the user enters their credit card information on the gateway hosted payment page. After the user processes their transaction on the gateway hosted payment page they are redirected back to your web site and Smith Cart displays a confirmation page indicating the transaction was approved or declined.

Since Google Checkout is a hosted payment gateway, the ability to offer alternative Payment options is not currently supported. Please see the following post about Direct vs Hosted gateways: http://www.smith-consulting.com/Forum...

Thanks,

Hi Kevin, thanks for the reply.

I have tried to set up the Google Checkout pasting the ID and Key from the Google Checkout website and pasting into there the API Callback URL into Google Checkout Integration Settings but when I try to complete an order nothing happens at the stage when it should take me to the Google Checkout site it just stays on the Complete Payment page.

Do you have any ideas of what is going wrong?

G

Hi Glynis,

Are you using Google Checkout as the Primary Gateway or a Payment Option?

Are there any errors logged to your DNN Event Viewer?

Thanks,

Hi Kevin, I am using Google Checkout as the primary gateway. Below are the Event Viewer entries:

Hi Glynis,

I would like to have you login to one of our public test portals and configure the cart the way you have your cart configured and try to replicate the issue. This will determine if the issue you are reporting is with the latest version of the cart or an issue with your specific dnn portal/cart install.

Please send an email with a link to this post to kevin@smith-consulting.com and I will provide you with credentials to login.

Thanks,

Hi Glynis,

I think the issue may possibly be with your Google Checkout account as I am able to enter our credentials into the Cart and checkout without any issue.

Are you using the Google Checkout Sandbox or Live account?

Thanks,

Hi Kevin
I am not using the Google Sandbox - see an earlier post  of mine - Google have removed the Sandbox and changed the system for testing. I have been through my Google checkout settings again but there really is not much that can be wrong - and if it was some wrong setting I would have thought that I would get an error message or at least it would try to go to the Google  Checkout site, but it just does nothing. I have saved the code from the Submit Order page and will email it to you. Perhaps you could just do a quick check to see if anything stands out.
Regards Glynis

Hi Glynis,

Ok I see what is happening. Apparently the if you currently have a Google Checkout Sandbox setup, you can still process test transactions but new accounts cannot.

I have sent the info on the Google Checkout change to our dev list to be changed in a future version of the Cart and we will do our best to include this in the next release of the Cart. If you would like to have this item prioritized into programming right away please submit a quote request at the following link. It is not required that you sponsor this change, just if you would immediate attention to theissue you reported: https://www.smith-consulting.com/serv...

Thanks for reporting this!
