Hi,

We have a problem with SC05.00.00 and SagePay Direct. It works fine for Visa and Mastercard transactions, but we have one customer who has a Discover Maestro card that continually gets their transaction declined.

Within the four checkboxes for card types, we have Visa, Mastercard and Discover ticked. The user reports that the transaction fails and when we contact SagePay we find that the card type is being sent as DISC and they don't accept this. They said, after we gave them the first nine digits of the card number, that the card type should be MAESTRO. If we untick the Discover card the user gets a message from the cart that the Discover Card is not acceptable when they initially try the transaction.

Any ideas how we can get this card to work with Smith Cart and Sage Pay?

Thanks,

Jimmy.

Hi Jimmy,

When using the SagePay Direct gateway, the Cart has been programmed to send type based on the number that the card begins with.

For example:
Visa card numbers start with a 4.
MasterCard numbers start with the number 5
American Express card numbers start with 3
Discover card numbers begin with 6

A Discover Maestro is a MasterCard but it looks like the card number can begin with either a 5 or a 6, which is most likely the reason the card is being sent as a Discover card. In order to support the Discover Maestro card type being sent as a MasterCard, additional logic would need to be programmed into the Cart.
