Hi,

We recently received an order from China. This order had very odd order data in it. The customer complained about not getting an email or anything, or able to view the order data. We went into our credit card gateway and saw the order data there, and a partial order in SmithCart.

The order was approved, but there is no Pay Status listed. When viewing the order itself, Shipping Info is populated, but it shows an odd numerical Ship Type... nothing in our shipping methods. There is no product listed also. No entry at all. Completely blank of the product selected. Billing Info is blank also, and it shows that the order value was just the shipping value, not the full order price that shows in the gateway.

Would anyone know why this would occur? Could there been a Unicode character submitted that messed things up or something? Is there a log or a place to look where an error would have been recorded?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi,

Another order came through and even though the billing info showed, the product was missing and there was no Pay Status listed. The order was APPROVED in the gateway, but the order was never recorded.

He tried again, and got a REFERRAL error because it was a duplicate, and THAT one recorded.

I am concerned about what could be wrong. I simply applied the latest version on top of the 5.3 version I had installed.

Also, I just discovered that the State/Region field did not match in the Shipping Info. Why? We had to drop the dropdown box in user registration because it did not have any states other than USA/Canada. So we changed it to TEXT, where I think SmithCart uses a dropdown. Does your region/state option override DNN's? I wonder if the error is somehow here.

OK. I found more info. For some reason the ProductDetails page is not reachable. I think I get that DotNetNuke loopback bug or something. In FireFox, when clicking on any product, I get this error:

"The page isn't redirecting properly

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

So now I cannot even get to the ProductDetails page. All very odd and it happened after the upgrade was installed.

I made sure the cart referred to Product Details. So I am lost!

Interestingly, adding the SmithProductDetail.dll from version 5.30 stops the problem. So with a 5.44 version installed of the SmithProductDetail.dll file, the ProductDetail page causes the error. If I copy and past the 5.30 version of the DLL into the Bin folder, the error is gone!

Could the DLL rely on some new dependency on .NET runtimes that was not there before?

Note: I just tried other versions. 5.37 also works without the error. Once you hit 5.40 you get the error.

Are there any special changes between 5.37 and 5.40 that would make the error occur?

Hi Steve,

Please try taking the following steps to resolve the issue on the Product Details page:

1. From the store admin menu, click on the page template button to go into the page template editor and delete all your page templates.

2. In file explorer, navigate to your \portals\[portalid]\smithcart\tenplates folder

3. Delete all the files in the \portals\[portalid]\smithcart\templates folder

4. Reset iis and restart the application from the dnn host menu

5. Go to product listing page and see if your products are displayed.

That seemed to fix it. I re-imported my multi-column template afterwards and it works fine.

I spent 3 hours on this... maybe a button in admin to refresh the templates would be a good thing and save many hours of looking for some. I went into all sorts of things to figure this out.

Anyway, it is up and running fine!

Hi Steve,

A button in Admin menu to refresh the Page Templates is an excellent idea. I'll bring this up in our next dev meeting and you can also submit enhancements in our Enhancement Requests forum here: http://www.smith-consulting.com/Forum...

Thanks!
