I am currently running SmithCart version 5.45 on DotNetNuke Community Edition 07.xx, I’m selling service (which means no shipment) from Canada to all countries. The HST tax apply only for Canadian customers.

By searching other forums, I added the list of Canadian province and tax rate at the smith_tax table without adding the county and zip code. In my case I'm selling service, which means the customer is not adding his county. also tax rates in Canada are fixed for the same province.

I did try purchase a service and select the country and province it gives the following results:

Sub Total :

$2,020.00

Discount :

-$0.00

Sales Tax 13% :

$0.00

Total :

  $2,020.00

Which means it is selecting the right tax rate bit is not calculating the rate ($0)

I try to select country US unfortunately it is getting the tax rate 13% also which it shouldn't as it is not Canada.

Hi Alaa,

What Tax Method do you have selected in your Cart Settings?

If you have HST selected, HST will only be charged to customers in your home province.

If you would like to use the Tax Tables you imported, I suggest using the "Use Tax Tables" Tax option.

Hope this helps!

Hi Kevin,
I tried both, it gives the tax percentage (13%) but the problem it gives the value ($0) for the tax.
which means it I recognize the percentage but it is not calculating it. this is using HST, Home, and using table.
