I have a Paypal Pro account and all the API details which I have entered into the settings but I am not sure which option to select for Paypal Payment Setup so that my customers can use the Paypal Pro. I do not have any other payment methods and am now totally confused as to how I can get this to work.

Also I need to set up shipping as a fixed price per item but for different locations. I need four options with 4 different values but cannot see how to do this. The options are "Channel Islands - £3.50", "United Kingdom - £4.50", "Europe - £7.50" and "International - £15.50".

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regarding Paypal Pro, which paypal pro did you sign up for Paypal Payflow Pro or Paypal Website Payments Pro?

To setup your cart with the 4 shipping options for:

  • Channel Islands - £3.50
  • United Kingdom - £4.50
  • Europe - £7.50
  • International - £15.50

From the Store Admin menu click the "Shipping" icon and then click the "Custom Ship Methods" button at the top of the screen and then enter your 4 shipping options there. For example, enter "Channel Islands - £3.50" in the shipping method name field and just "3.50" in the amount field.

I have got the "Website Payments Pro" version.

Regarding the shipping I have tried this but I now get a "Ship To" section appearing at the bottom of the "View Cart" which gives me the shipping options but also asks me for all my contact details. I then press the checkout and it asks me for my "Ship" details again! I know it is prefilled with the details from the "View Cart" but it seems a bit strange to have to put your details in twice.

If you fill in your shipping address on the cart screen it should pre populate that info on step 1, its not doing that for you? What version of the cart are you running?

It is pre filling in the shipping on step 1 but I dont understand why I am being asked to fill in shipping details twice?

Also you did not answer my question about setting up just Paypal Pro for payment.

The reason for step1 is there are additional fields that are collected on step 1 like company name (optional), email, phone, etc that are not entered on the cart screen for the shipping calculator. Since step 1 is pre populated with the data you entered on the cart screen you are not being asked to fill in shipping info it is simply displayed on step 1 along with the additional data fields email, phone, etc.

For PayPal Website Payments Pro go to the cart admin settings under the gateway section and choose "PayPal Website Payments Pro" from the gateway dropdown and then scroll to the bottom and save.

Under "Payment Method Setup" you need to check "Credit Card". Please see the cart quickstart guide for configuring all the required shopping cart settings http://www.smith-consulting.com/Porta... its only 10 pages so its a quick read. For full documentation on setting and configuring all the features in the shopping cart here is a link to the manual http://www.smith-consulting.com/Porta...

I have read the documentation many times and it did not say that you need to tick the Credit Card box when using Paypal Pro. I have now done this and entered credit card details when prompted. I am then shown the review screen and I click the submit button and I then get the following error screen:

Their is nothing in the event log and nothing in paypal. Is their any way to turn on debugging to see what is going on at this stage as the "Invalid data" message looks to me like it is coming from Paypal but the XML or data being passed is in the wrong format?

-----PLEASE NOTE-----

Since making the above post I have tried to get the cart working with Paypal Proflow and their seems to be an issue with that as well, something to do with the country not being sent to paypal. This may have something to do with the fact I am using paypal UK and a google search shows other people are having a similar issue with other carts. I have given up and resorted to using Paypal Standard which seems to work perfectly.

Both PayPal Website Payments Pro and PayPal PayFlow Pro use dll's from PayPal that require full trust on your web server. Do you know what trust level you are running on your webserver?
