We had a product with "Hide Quantity" selected... because we only want 1 to be selected. We unchecked it so we are OK as it is a service plan upgrade. But if you have it selected at the product level, and someone has a 2nd item in the cart (not sure if this makes a difference or not though), the quantity is hidden when reviewing the cart for all the items in the cart and the user cannot checkout because of a "Please enter a whole number without decimals for quantity." message is displayed.
Do note that even with Hide Quantity selected on the product, in version 6.0 of the cart, the quantity box is still displayed.
Thought you all may want to check into this. We are OK as we are just unticking that box for now.
