Trying to add item to cart via query string URL and its not passing the Price. The price is being set to $0.00 even though the price really should be $18.00

Does this with every singe item in the store.

Hi Dustin,

According the the SmithCart Change Log, there was a fix for a querystring issue in 5.20 however I don't see anything else listed for any later releases. I tried to replicate this issue on my test portal using version 6.50 of the Cart but I was unable to reproduce the issue, the unit price of the Product was correctly applied on the Cart screen. This may indicate that the issue has already been resolved in a recent release or that it is related to your specific configuration.

Are there any Variants associated with the Product you are adding to the Cart?

Are there any errors being logged to your DNN Event Viewer?

Please post a screenshots of the following screens on your site and I will set my test site up to match your settings:
  • Store Settings
  • Product Setup screen

I have tested it on other sites I have the smith cart on and they seem to work. Similar version numbers as well. It happens for every product regardless of if there is a variant or not. Ironically, if you pass  a product with a variant then the price is set correctly. like the ?variants=3~1, THAT WORKS. However many of our products don't use variants.

There are no errors in the Event Viewer in relation to this.

That is a lot of screen shots to show all the store settings and product setup screen, can i create and send you login info?

How were your Products entered? Were they entered manually or did you import them?

Is there a Unit Price entered for the Product?

Does adding a Product to the Cart work correctly with a new Product added via the Add Product screen?

They were all entered manually. Yes every product has a unit price. Yes if I add normally via the Buy Now or Product listing pages it gets added. Also, as I stated before if I pass the product via a query string and use a variant the price is correcttly added and the product is added to the cart. For instance, this URL:

Hi Dustin,

If you create a new Product manually without any Variants does the querystring method work?

What is the upgrade history of this site? Was this a fresh install of version 5.50 of the Cart? Or has it been upgraded from previous versions?

Are the other sites that are working running the same version of DNN 7.0.5? Was this a fresh install of DNN 7.0.5 or was your DNN portal upgraded?

Adding a new product still has same issues even with no variants. DNN was upgraded from version 6 to 7, but that was before we isntalled smith cart. The cart has not been upgraded.

i don't have exactly DNN 7.0.5 and smith cart running together on any other sites.

Hi Dustin,

It's difficult to troubleshoot this issue for version 5.50 of the Cart since it was released over a year ago. I would need to create a new DNN portal to install an older version of the Cart.

Do you have a test environment available where you can test a clean installation of the Cart to check if it is the Cart that is out of sync? The following KB artivcle provides the steps to create a DNN sandbox copy of your site: http://helpdesk.smith-consulting.com/...

Otherwise I would recommend upgrading your Cart to the latest version. Do you have an active Cart Maintenance Plan?

Ill see if I have time to do that here. for now we are using the variant method to pass to cart until we can figure out the issue.

we did try upgrading to version 5.78 or 5.77 and the problem still existed. The client is not on a maintenance plan and unless i knew for sure that solved the issue rolling up to the newest version I wouldn't want to go that route. We have this integrated into quickbooks and am just worried it seems every time i upgrade the cart, some new issue appears.
