I downloaded Smith Cart 7.0 for DNN 8+ from the Smith Cart download section and installed on my DNN 8 instance. I played with it and input around 50 products and decided to purchase the cart. My problem is that the license file I received is not working. The version for download from the dnn store is 7.18 for DNN 7+ and I installed that over the top of my existing cart and it bombed. I had to revert to a backup to get my site back up. My question is: Do I need to install a different version over the top of the install I currently have or is there something wrong with the license that I got? I don't want to lose the work I have already put into the cart so far...

Hi Ricky,

I don't believe there is anything wrong with the license. You do need to install the full version on top of the trial. If you have a full backup, installing the full version over your trial should work just fine and save your settings and your products. 7.18 should work fine with DNN8.

What was the error message you received when you installed 7.18, what was the error you received?

I cannot get 7.18 to even install on DNN 8. I unistalled the trial version and installed the full version 7.18 and I get the following error:

Attempt by security transparent method 'System.Web.Mvc.PreApplicationStartCode.Start()' to access security critical method 'System.Web.WebPages.PreApplicationStartCode.Start()' failed.


The version I installed that worked came off your site and is the first one on the list: SmithCart v7.0 for DNN 8.0 +

The title makes me think that there is a version made especially for DNN 8. Is this the case? And if this is so, can I get the full version please.
