We currently are using the Authorize.NET (SIM) payment gateway in SmithCart. I recently learned that Authorize.Net has deprecated the SIM payment form. Will there be an update to SmithCart replacing the SIM gateway to one of Authorize.Net alternative solutions in the future?
Thanks!
Jody

No, we will not be releasing any more updates for SmithCart, all new releases will be for RazorCart. This is due to technology changes in the platform from Microsoft and DNN required us to move from webforms to the new techologies of MVC, Angular and bootstrap to future proof the shopping cart as technology is evolving rapidly. I recommend downloading the trial version of RazorCart here http://www.smith-consulting.com/Products/FreeTrial and checking it out. RazorCart and SmithCart use the same database so upgrading is easy! Of course we will continue to support SmithCart users as they transition to RazorCart.

Dave,
Thank you for your insights about future SmithCart updates. RazorCart looks pretty slick. I noticed a couple of other Authorize.Net API updates that are occurring much sooner. Does smithCart use the HTTP GET method that will end on May 31? If so, is there anything we can do to keep our store up and going using the Authorize.Net (SIM) gateway as while we address the move.

We use the post method so you should be ok. However, SIM is being deprecated and replaced by "AcceptHosted". Here is more info on that https://developer.authorize.net/api/reference/features/accept_hosted.html.
At your service,
Dave Smith

Do you know when SIM will be replaced with "AcceptHosted"?

I don't think they published a date, I searched it and only found forum posts nothing official from authorize.net.
