Shipping charges disappear during the check-out process

I'm encountering a problem with my cart dropping the shipping charges on orders. It typically only happens on orders of 6-8 items or more. The shipping charges appear earlier in the check-out process but when the customer gets to the final "Place the Order" page, the shipping charges are no longer there. It never seems to happen on smaller orders of just a few items.

I'm using calculated shipping for USPS. No other shipping options or discounts are approved. I've checked all the settings and everything appears to be set OK.

I'm using Smith Cart 7.36 and DNN 9.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to correct this problem?
