1. By default the summary field does not show up in the front end of the cart. In the cart admin settings under the product detail setup section there is a checkbox to show the summary field on the product details page. In cart v3.01 (in beta) we have added a show summary checkbox for the product listing page that will display the summary field for single column or multi column product listing views.

3. The product table uses one field for storing product weight so we had to standardize on the lowest common denominator for saving product weights and that is ounces. To answer your question there is no way to configure product weight in lbls you need to enter weight in ounces in order for the shipping calculations to work properly.

4. When setting up categories and products there is a “Share” checkbox that applies if you have added more than one cart module on different pages in your portal. This feature is used in situations where you want multiple product catalogs on different pages of your website. For example, if you are selling books and computers on your website and you wanted to have one page dedicated to books and another page dedicated to computers. Or if you want a public store and a members only store. If the share checkbox is checked for a particular category or product it will be displayed in all product catalogs on any pages where you have added the shopping cart module. If the share checkbox is not checked then categories or products added to your first cart module will remain separate from categories added to your second cart module. Additionally, the settings for payment gateway, tax, shipping etc can all run independantly as well.

6. If you want to have multiple stores (product catalogs) in your site then you are correct you need to add a new dnn page and then add the buynow module to the page. You can certainly just create one page and add the category and buynow module to the page if you want your store on one page. If you want multiple product catalogs on your site showing different products then you would need to create speeate pages and add the buynow module to it. If you want one of the buynow modules to show categories/products from other buynow modules on other pages then you can use the "share" flag described in item 4 above. If you want to display a list of shops on a page not on your menu bar then you could add the dnn html module to the page and add links to each of the stores you have created in your portal.

after more experimentation it appears that sharing is universal meaning that if i have 3 catalogs, {a,b,c} then all catalogs in the set become the union of a, b, c? i.e. all catalogs become master catalogs of each other? so there is no such thing as a single master catalog where sharing is unidirectional toward the master but not parallel with each other?

is there a way for catalog A to deny sharing from b if b shares?

yes i would encourage the creation of a true master catalog - essentially a virtual catalog which would be the union of all catalogs on the site/pprtal separate and distinct from any of its subsets. i would include the sharing option with the master catalog but allow the admin to reject items. i would also allow an admin to turn off the cross sharing feature and / or enable the sharee to reject sharing. and finally i would propose a master category set maintained by the admin in addition to store-only categories.

of course i realize that this takes the product in a new direction than its current purpose so i offer it as food for thought. i am seeking a mall solution whereas the current feature set supports a multi-store central admin model. however, i still like your product.
