Hi

I have added a number of categories and sub-categories and added products that should only appear in one sub-category.

However, when I select a cat or sub-cat from the category module I still see all products, with no filtering.

Any ideas what is wrong?

Many thanks

Tony

Im not able to replicate this on my dev system but there are a lot different ways to configure the cart and I may not have configured my cart the exact way you have. Can you login to our test site http://www9.smith-consulting.com/ and try to replicate the error.

Please send an email to support@smithcart.com if you need a login.

Hi

I've requested a login.

I wonder if this is realted to upgrading from 2.95 to 3.02? The module was in place, and the categories were in place, before the upgrade.

I have tried deleting the category module and putting it in again, but to no avail.

Also, the category module is on the same page as the Buy.Now module. What goes in the field for the "Page where the Buy.Now module is?

Thanks

Tony

Something must have gotten out of sync in your cart build when you upgraded from 2.95 to 3.02 I recommend you download and install the new cart version 3.02 and do a clean install.

Clean Install Instructions
-----------------------------
Delete the old module and start with a clean install of the module. Please do the following:

  1. From the dnn->host menu uninstall all 6 modules; Smith.BuyNow, Smith.AffliateTracking, Smit.CategoryMenu, Smith.MiniCart, smith.featuredproducts and Smith.MyAccount. Make sure you check the delete files box when you uninstall
  2. Confirm that all stored procs and tables with a prefix of smith in your database are deleted
  3. Confirm that all files in /desktopmodules/smith.buynow are deleted and the folder is removed
  4. Install the latest module 3.02
  5. Configure the cart settings
  6. Add one category, manufacturer and product and test

Also if the category module is on the same page as the buynow module then you dont need to populate the "buynow page name" field in the category menu settings.

Hi

Unfortunately I have spent 2 days configuring a number of ascx files, and other changes, removing items I don't wish to display. To have to do this again would be irritating to say the least. Is there any chance that I may be able to save these and upload them after the re-install?

In other words, will they have changed in the latest upgrade?

Accepted Answer

You can try backing up the ascx pages you changed then do the clean install and restoring your ascx pages one at a time testing each time you replace a page. If the ascx page was changed from v2.95 (your current version) to the new cart version 3.02 then you may get an error when you restore your 2.95 version.
