Question: I am using the cart module as a product catalogue only so I need the following:
- No shopping cart
- No prices
Also, I need a customisable search facility that would allow the user to search multiple categories with check boxes for the categories.
Does Smith Cart support this?
Answer: Yes, Smith Cart fully supports product catalog only site. In the cart admin settings it has the following settings that allow you to configure your store as a product catalog only:
- Hide Price
- Hide Quantity
- Hide Shipping
- Hide Sub Total Lines
- Hide Add To Cart
- Add To Cart Requires Login
Regarding the search the cart has a pretty flexible search ability it will allow you to do wild card searches by keyword across all categories or within a single category it doesn’t have a checkbox list of categories where you can limit the search to only 2 categories.
