calculating shipping differently for different items

Shipping -- We have some items we would like to do by weight and others by cost, can we split across our products how shipping is calculated? IE we have some items that are weight and size restrictive and we would like to do by qty, then othe smaller items by weight.

Currently in the cart it is not possible to configure shipping for some products by weight and others by cost. If you go to the product setup screen and click the shipping button at the top of the screen you will see the shipping options that are availible by product. They are as follows:
