I have two problems currently related to product images. I've done some searching but didn't turn anything up.

1) The thumbnail resize routine doesn't appear to be working. When I look via DNN file manager, the thumbs have been created but the file length is 0. As a result, all thumbnails show up as red X's.

2) Lightbox on product detail page doesn't appear to be working. Do I have to turn this on somewhere?

On a related question, does it mess things up to simply delete images and thumbs via DNN file manager? In other words, is there also a database entry related to the image that must be deleted (presumably by deleting via the smithcart interface) for things to work properly?

1) What version of the cart are you running?

2) In the cart install PA zip file there is a lightbox.zip file extract the lightbox.zip file and open the readme file and you will see instructions on how to enable lightbox in your portal

3) You can delete images and thumbs via DNN file manager or ftp. The image and thumb name is also stored in the database in the smith_products table but when you upload an image from the cart product setup screen it will overlay the image fields in the database.

AHH!!!!

I am also experiencing a problem with thumbnails being created with a file size of 0. Please look into this and fix asap.

Thanks

The exact problem with the thumbnail generation is related to the extention. When I add a picture with an uppercase .JPG then the thumbnail is not generated correctly. But when I change it to lowercase .jpg it works.

Can you please make a fix for this?

You can manually create thumbnails... the entire directory at once.

Download the Image Resizer PowerToy for your O.S. (there are different flavors for XP, Vista, 7, etc).

Copy all of the images to your thumbnails directory.

Do a Control-A (Select All)

Right-click one of the images.

Select "Resize Images"

Make them the size that you want.

That's how I did all 2900+ of my images that I imported, without going through uploading each one and having it run the thumbnail routine.

Yes, I used a utility like that to fix some issues, but as my end user client continues to add items to the store they should simply be able to add a photo and not have to go through extra special steps. This is a pretty basic feature that should just work and there are plenty of other DNN modules that create image thumbnails without this problem.

Programming just added a ToLower() function on the image extension to fix the issue you reported with the uppercase image extensions and it will be availible in the next release v3.05.

Wonderful, do you have an ETA on that? Just so I can let my client know.

two questions:

1) Is it possible to get lightbox.zip without purchasing smithcart first?

2) What is the proper procedure for upgrading from 3.04 to 3.08?

I would really like to see this module working properly on my site before buying a license... thanks.
