After further investigation, I now realize that it's not just the pictures that don't change. Some of my variants actually change the price and some don't. The conditional variant seems to work. This is exactly the opposite of all of the problems we debugged in July and August. Can you send a hotfix, please?

Thank you.

Regards,

Art

PS Some of the non-conditional variants work and some don't on the 240V test site product. I can't see the 3 panel Freestanding, because the deatil page never shows up.

Art,

Did the variants, conditional variants and picture change all work before the upgrade?

Absolutely or I'd have been on this forum more than I already am.

Did you load the hotfix on www9? The license error is still on the front page and when I click on the Freestanding 4' panel on the last page, the detail page goes blank. http://www9.smith-consulting.com/Home... .

I can't upload dlls to your test server.

I went ahead and applied the hotfix to my site, even though there was no change in the behavior of your test site. The fix did not update any prices and the pictures don't change when you pick a Fabric or Finish. What specifically did you do to verify that his hotfix worked given that your test site doesn't show acceptable results? Can you please send me your testing plan? I believe a review process needs to be implemented.

Hi Art.

I understand your frustration, however as mentioned in another post, you should really be testing upgrades on a test install of DNN before rolling it out to a live site. Demanding to see a testing plan was obviously stated by you out of frustration.

Considering the wide variety of uses that people are using the Smith Cart for, it's not possible to completely test all scenarios. I'm doing some things with the cart that I don't think that Dave even considered, such as using the cart for donations to a non-profit.

As I said, I certianly understand your frustration, but even Microsoft comes out with updates daily for stuff that THEY missed in testing. Dave and his staff are quite busy, and a lot of it is my fault (lol), with changes to the system.

Disclaimer: I'm not an employee of Smith Consulting. I'm just a customer... with 30 years of computer experience and about 8 years of DNN.

Well, let me take that one step further. I was told to go try it on the www9 Smith test server and it wasn't installed. If it isn't even installed on his own test servers then why is it released for general use?

You are very right that I'm frustrated and so are a lot of other people as I read on these forums. I too have over 30 years of computing experience and have even been a developer of FDA validated systems as well as being a lecturer to college seniors in database systems. There needs to be a testing plan to ensure quality. The errors I've encountered in this cart have stopped my system cold. As for using a test system, my system is still in development, essentially still the test machine. Your example of using daily Microsoft fixes does not really fit. Patches I have on my "production PC's" from Microsoft do not get applied first to a "test PC" and have never stopped me from booting my computer. Patches I apply from here have forced me to reinstall the cart from scratch on many occassions.

The variant issues described in this thread are fixed and the hotfix is availible on the downloads page. www9 test site updated also.
