Hello,

I'm curious if the cart is recalculating the shipping costs when items are removed from the cart in the first step of the checkout process. More concretely, I'm running a trial version (2.88) and have it configured for custom shipping with a free shipping threshold of $29. When I fill the cart above $29, then hit the checkout button, then subsequently empty the cart below $29, the shipping stays free instead of presenting the non-free shipping options.

Secondly, when I get to the end of the checkout process, the member discount is calculated but not deducted from the total, leaving a result like this:

Subtotal: $14.95

Shipping Fee: $0.00

Discount: $0.00

Member Discount 50%: $7.48

Sales Tax 0%: $0.00

Total: $14.95

Oddly enough, the total is calculated properly ($7.48) on the first screen of the checkout process, but something goes wrong on the last screen.

I'm curious if others can reproduce this, or if it is something particular to my installation. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I will try to replicate this in our test enviroment and let you know what I find.

Good morning - Has your test environment shown any results yet, one way or the other?

I just confirmed that in the following scenario you described the cart does not remove the free shipping option and default back to the custom ship methods you defined:

  1. Configured for custom shipping with a free shipping threshold of $29
  2. When I fill the cart above $29, then hit the checkout button
  3. Then subsequently empty the cart below $29
  4. The shipping stays free instead of presenting the non-free shipping options

We have fixed this issue and it will be availible in v2.91

Thanks for working on this. I see that it does ask for shipping options now in most cases.

There are some exceptions though, If I:

1. Start the checkout process with a cart that is above the threshold

2. Reduce a quantity to drop below the threshold (not delete a line, but reduce the quantity of items in a line)

3. Without clicking elsewhere, click on 'Continue shopping'

4. Re-start the checkout process

Then, the free shipping is still hanging on.

This is mainly just an FYI. It isn't a big deal for me at this point. I suppose you can just add it to the bug list and figure it out eventually.

I'm still concerned about the member pricing issue not calculating. Have you been able to fix this? I can email screenshots if that would be helpful.

There are various options for configuring member pricing:

  • Cart settings - Show member pricing
  • Cart settings - Show member pricing by role
  • Cart settings - Discount Percentage
  • Cart settings - Discount Member Role
  • Product Setup - member pricing
  • Product Setup - Member Pricing - Member pricing by role

Can you post a screen snapshot of how you have your member pricing configured so I can try to replicate the issue.

Sorry for the lack of detail. I haven't figured out how to put a screenshot in here, so it is on the way in an email.

Ours is a basic setep, no product level member pricing. It is done by discount percentage (50%) and by role (currently the Administrator role, but I'll make a new Wholesale role eventually). I have checked none of the "show" boxes though, because we don't want to show the wholesale pricing to everyone.

I have experimented a bit more with this...

If I choose the option "Show Member Price", then all the member prices show as $0.00 on the product list.

If I choose the option "Show Member Prices by Role", then I get a critical error saying that the stored procedure dbo.Smith_GetMemberPricing doesn't exist.

I looked at the database on my localhost version, and indeed that SP is not in there. I started with version 2.78 and am now running version 2.91. Is it possible that this SP never got created and that is part of the problem?

The issue with the confirmation page member discount exists in version 3.6 - see attachment. The previous page in the checkout process looks good, though. Any workaround?

I recommend upgrading to the latest cart version 3.08 it should be fixed. You can test the 3.08 build first on our test portal www7.smith-consulting.com. Please email support@smithcart.com if you need a login.
