Hello,

I'm using the trial version, 3.85, and trying to set up a simple cart.

I add a product as an unauthenticated user to the cart from the featured product module and it goes to the cart, showing the unit cost as the value entered in product setup.

Then I continue shopping, it goes back to 'Request a quote' in the unit cost.

Is this a known issue? Someone else seems to have had the same issue in September, but I don't see if ever resolved.

What's the status of this and how would you recommend I address it in the trial 3.85?

I'm trying to decide on the purchase. Setup went fairly smoothly, and getting data entered and modules placed was a snap, but the proof is in the production experience.... I need the cost showing up reliably.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

In the buynow module settings under general cart setup do you have hide price checked or did you have it checked at some point? Make sure it is not checked and then reset iis and clear your browser cache and temp files.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

I just tried multiple tests, reseting the browser cache and fully recycling IIS with each test case.

I confirmed that the general cart options in the buynow module settings does not have the hide price option checked.

... to no avail.

with a non-logged in user:

The only time the unit cost is showing the price on the product is when it is added to the cart and the cart is initially displayed.

Any return to the cart at checkout (i.e., "continue shopping") displays the Request a Quote text instead of the price when the cart is displayed again

It is happening consistently, and I cycled IIS and purged the browser cache with each test.

Any other ideas on what might be causing this?

I'm pondering cracking open the ascx, but that's just silly, given this fine support forum.

:)

Has anyone else encountered this?

Im not able to replicate this on my dev system but there are a lot different combinations of settings for tax, shipping, etc and I may not have configured my cart the exact way you have. Can you login to our test site http://www7.smith-consulting.com/ and try to replicate the error.

Please send an email to support@smithcart.com if you need a login.

I've requested logins.

Meanwhile, I did some more testing on my dnn install with the trial.

>> Deleted all my products and created 3 new ones.

>> 2 products had a unit price and were set to display the price (hideprice=false), one with hide price checked (hideprice=true)

>> Adding the two products with hidepriceprice=false to the cart ... they show up with the price consistantly.

>> Once the item with hideprice=true is added to the cart, all unit prices are replaced with request a quote.. even if they displayed a price previously.

It seems that if any item in the cart has hide price set on it, then the cart will put Request a quote in ALL items in the cart,

regardless of if the other items in the cart have the flag set or not.

Total displays the sum of the products with hideprice=false correctly.

Can you confirm if this is how it is supposed to work?

I'd be ok if only the products which had the hide price flag set appeared as "request a quote" but the other products should have a price. I want to allow some items to be ordered immediately, and the items that will require a consult to have a line item on the order.

I will test this on your site once I get the login requested.

Yes I can confirm that this is how the hide price by product in the product setup screen works. The hide price checkbox will hide prices for all products whether you have it checked in the buynow module settings or the product setup screen. If you have some products you want users to be able to checkout with for free you can set the product price to zero. We have hide price by product on the dev list but its not scheduled yet for programming.
