We rolled back to 3.86 where our modifications to productlist.ascx still work. (Now we can go live!!)

We found that clicking on the Options button in 3.87 does go to the detail page OK. But clicking on either the image or the modelname goes to an empty detail page.

Our customer found the "Options" button redundant, so in our mods, we set it to display:none. But then the only way to link is from the image or the name which we found does not work in 3.87.

This issue has been fixed and cart v3.88 is availible on the downloads page. it turns out that dnn in their infinite wisdom changed the navigateurl function in version 5.5.x and either broke or discontinued one of the overloads the cart used to pass the productid in the querystring.
