I am using your shopping cart on my website i have to charge tax on some items. I downloaded the user guide and looked at the tax setup it seems I do not have the same options as the users guide im missing the option to choose my states that i want to tax. I choose the use tax table but the tax rates seem to be different from the New York state sales tax forums. This is all I see for smith am i missing anything or is there a new version?

In version 2.85 the cart didnt have the feature to select the states to tax you will need to upgrade to 3.88 to get that feature. To get the latest tax rates for your locale, in your case New York you will need to download the latest tax rates from your the new york dot gov site and import them to the "Smith_Tax" table. In the version of the cart you have 2.85 you should have a checkbox in the product setup screen called "tax exempt" that will allow you to make select products tax exempt.

A CSV file would be the easiest.

You can view the Smith_Tax table using sql mgmt studio. In sql mgmt studio if you right click on the table and select the import wizard you will be able to import a csv file.
