We would like to be able to charge a one shipping fee for people who order things within our local town and another for anything else out of town. We could do this based on zip or town or something. I'm really just looking for some ideas here, I'm open to any suggestions.

So my next question would be how do I do this? I need to have a shipping cost of 4 dollars on the zip codes 11111 11112 11113 and then 20 dollars on all other zip codes. Any ideas?

You should be able to configure shipping that way using the Shipping by Zip Code screen lets you enter shipping amounts by zip code. Did you enter all your shipping costs in the manage ship by zip screen and it didnt calculate shipping correctly?

I entered shipping costs for 3 zip codes. However, any other zip codes need to have a different shipping amount. We are basically trying to set up the principal that if you ship in town, which has 3 zip codes, it costs 4. If you ship out of town (any other zip code) it costs 10. I don't know how to add the second one. Also when I checked out, I saw now shipping cost at all. You can see the storefront here. I can provide admin access if you like. http://www.bobsfloralandgifts.com

For each zip code you want to charge shipping for needs to be entered in the manage ship by zip screen one zip per amount. If you have alot of zip codes with the same ship amount you could write a sql update stmt so you dont have to enter all them.

So I don't know if I missed something but I cannot get this to work. I added a few zip codes and set the cart to custom ship methods by zip. The manual says they should be able to calculate their shipping but whenever I go to checkout I don't see that option. Shipping just says tbd. Then you go to checkout and the shipping is 0. Am I missing something.

In the buynow module settings under the shipping setup section did you select the radio button titled "Custom Ship Methods by Zip Code". Also you need to defined custom ship methods then when you add your zip codes in the manage ship by zip screen you need to select a custom ship method for each zip code you add.

When the cart is configured for shipping by zip code and the user is on the cart screen they will enter their ship to address and click the “calculate” button and the cart will look up their zip code in the shipping by zip table. If the cart finds a zip code match then the respective shipping cost will be charged. If the cart does not find a zip code match then a message will be displayed to the user requesting a valid zip code be entered before proceeding through checkout.

I have attached my current settings. I believe I have everything set right. I still see no calculate shipping button.

I see in your other post that you are upgrading from v3.6 to 3.93 after you get your upgrade setup and configured postback and let me know if that fixed the ship by zip issue.

You're going to hate me but that problem is on a different site. We have 4 instances of your shopping cart running. The site with the shipping issue is running your newest version, it's on dnn 4 though. Do you have any other suggestions?

I reviewed your setup you attached in the post and it looks like you have everything configured correctly. When you have custom ship methods by zip code configured on the cart page below the subtotal area it should show the textboxes for the user to enter their ship address and select the ship method. Can you try going into the buynow module settings and re-saving your settings.

I resaved the settings and still don't have that box at all. Sounds like a bug to me. You probably missed it because its on dnn 4. Can I get a fix for this?
