Is it possible to offer category level coupons? For instance 10% off the Book category. I only see how to add them per item.

THANKS

Coupons can be setup at the order level and the product level but not the category level. The cart does have category level discounting which will give you the ability the discount prices by category. The only difference is that the category level discounting is automatically applied to the order and does not require the user to enter a coupon to receive the discount. We also just released price class discounting which gives you another level of discounting.

I tried "Category Quantity Discounts". I checked "Enable Category Level Discounts" in the Settings and when I go to Discounts it still says "Order Level Disocunts". The manual says it shoud say "Category Qty Discounts". Am I doing this correct?

THANKS

Even though I found it, I still have some troubleshooting to overcome-

When I set Category level discounts, it doesn't register the discount at all.

When I set discounts (discounts from 1-10 bought) to Product Level - the price in the cart is full price until I hit "update quantity"- (even though I keep it the same quantity). Buyers on the site won't know to hit the update button.

My client wants to set a one-day special for a specific category.

The only option I have now is to use the member discounts for Registered members and track it with an affiliate id (which I can't view the Affiliate Reporting page)

Any suggestions?

The discount is actually calculated when you click the add to cart button from the product listing or product detail page. Are you adding to the cart this way or did you create your own button and add to cart by passing the productid in the querystring? Also in the buynow module settings under the "Discounts" section you need to select the radio button option "Enable Category Level Discounts"
