We're using the Category module on the same page as our BuyNow Module. All Categories are displaying, just as all categories are set to share, with two separate Buy Now modules running on the site, allowing customers the option to jump to Category 1 even if commencing shopping in Category 2. Sort Order has not been applied within the Manage Categries option, with only Category 1 and Category 2 as parent categories. There are a furhter 15 subcategories, split between the two parents

However, when a subcategory from Category 1 is selected, whilst browsing category 2, (or vice versa) we're getting zero results.

Any ideas?

In the product setup screen did you associate categories with all your products?

We did, although we didn't associate a product with both the category and the sub-category, just the sub-category.

After further testing, I can see we should update this.

The issue still stands though, as when you're on the landing page for the Category 2 items and select either a sub-category or the parent of Category 1, you still receive a null result.

From what I can see, having tried different settings, this appears to be as a result of the 'Buy Now Page' as defined in the Category module settings, which suggests the Category Module is only useful for displaying sub categories for a single parent. I think.

If so, how can we display categories and sub categories throughout the site when they have different parents?

What version of the cart are you running? The category module supports unlimited categories and nested sub categories. You can add products in more than one cat and sub cat. When you are in the product setup screen and you want the product to show up in multiple cats and sub cats you should check the checkbox for each cat/sub cat. I just tested this and the category module is filtering properly for products that have been added to the respective categories. if you are still having an issue please setup an example test case on our www7 test portal and I will take a look.

We're running 3.88.0 and it definitely occurs when you select a category or subcategory NOT of the BuyNow page you are currently on

The www7.smith-consulting.com test portal is running cart v3.95 I recommend trying to replicate the issue there. If you cant replicate it there then upgrading to the latest version of the cart will fix it on your portal.
