when i try to export the orders I get the following message...

Unable to download Default.aspx from www.mysite.com.
Unable to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.

is this a bug or is this some setting that needs to be set?

I just tested this on the www7 test site and it worked perfectly. What version of the cart and dnn are you running?

The issue could be a permissions issue or something in your iis is not allowing this filetype to be downloaded. Im not able to reproduce the issue on my dev system or the www7 test portal so the issue is most likely a server config issue.

I decided to download the ie9 browser and try it. it didn't work. so while I was downloading browsers I downloaded chrome and it worked. I guess until i figure out what the real problem is i'll instruct my users to use chrome to export the orders. At least there is a work around for me. Thanks for looking into the problem.

It looks to me like an IIS Issue. I would check your default document types, and make sure that they are correct.

It should never try to download a scripted filetype.
