My store is software download only. I would like to send a single email to the customer, automatically, at the end of a validated purchase containing all of the purchase details including serial number. Is it possible to just use the confirmation email and disable the shipping email to do this? I don't see a way to disable the shipping email. Ideas?

By default when an order is placed 2 confirmation emails are sent out, one to the customer and the other to the admin. You can enable the 3rd party cc email in the buynow settings if you have a fulfillment house you want to ship the product. The ship email is only launched from the manage order details page.

I wonder if he was talking about the Registration Confirmation for DNN.

This can, of course, be avoided if you don't require your users to have a login. Then they would only get the one email from the cart, and nothing else.

If you want your users to create an account before they purchase, then they will get two emails; one from DNN confirming their registration, and one from the cart.

Of course, on their NEXT order, assuming they are logged in, they would only get one from the cart.

Thanks for both responses. As long as I don't trigger a shipment in the manage orders screen no shipping email is sent? Does the confirmation email require a payment confirmation before sending? My serail numkbers will be activation codes that I obviously don't want sent on an unvalidated payment order.

That is correct as long as you don't trigger a shipment in the manage orders screen no shipping email is sent. The confirmation email will only be sent if a successfull payment is made in the store.
