Can you help me to find the instructions about configuring tax calculation by Canadian Province?

Thanks

Which tax option do you want to use the tax tables?

I tried to use the tax table. It appears I have to fill in State, County and City for every record. In Canada we don’t have municipal and city level taxes, so I would like to enter only 13 records for the provinces with their respective rates.

Is it possible to do that?

Another les important issue is that the tax is called differently. Sometimes it is GST, Sometimes GST/PST and sometimes HST. Changing the tax rate is nice to have but not that important.

Actually you only need to fill in State and City in the Smtih_Tax table and state maps to the Canada province. The cart will lookup tax rate based on the ship to state/province and city entered by the customer. If you want to calculate tax based only on the province then only populate the province in the tax table and the cart will lookup tax only based on province.

In cart v3.99 to be released today we added the ability to calculate tax by tax districts using the tab table method. In 3.99 there is a new buynow setting under the tax section titled “Use Step1 Dropdown List in Tax Lookup”. If “Use Step1 Dropdown List in Tax Lookup” is checked then the cart will lookup tax in the tax table based state and tax district (county). The custom dropdown in step 1 becomes required based on the states selected in the taxable state list in the buynow settings.
