I've been getting some gateway errors this past week.

the payment message is: Gateway Declined

is there anything I should be looking at? is it my fault, the customers or paypal?

What payment gateway are you using and what version of the cart are you running?

smith cart version 3.98 and PayPal Website Payments Pro. I did have one of the customers walk through the process and it was successfull. He mentioned that he had previously registered on the site with a 6 char password but then had to register again before checking out and it required him to use an 8 char password. (this was when it gave him the gateway error)
seems unrelated but I thought I would mention it.

If you can run transaction successfully thru the gateway then the decline message you got sounds like data entry issue from the user. If you can reproduce an error please post the steps to reproduce and also the error from the dnn event viewer if their is one.
