I am having a difficulty in adapting the above file for my client.

You can see on their site here, http://www.spacefurniture.co.uk/OurPr..., that the listing display for each item is far wider than it needs to be. When we inspect the element we can see that there is a column (or several columns) after the column with the image in it that is causing the problem.

Unfortunately, after hours of trying to cannot find how to reduce these so that we can hopefully add 4 or even 5 products in a row without spilling over the side of the page.

If there is anyway to force a reduction in the size of the thumbnail, and actually go to 5 columns this would also be fantastic.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as thumbnail sizes are concerned, do a quick google for "Image Resize Powertoy". It allows you to select multiple images, right-click, and "Resize". I use it all the time.

Nice looking site, by the way.

Gregs post if defnitely good to check out and will resize your thumbs fast and clean. In the BuyNow settings under the product list setup section there are 2 fields "thumb wdth" and "thumb height" where you can set your desired thumb dimensions. The cart uses these settings to size the thumbs when you upload your images using the product setup screen. The cart generates the thumbs then you upload the image so if you want the cart to re generate the thumb for an image you will need to re upload the image to re create the image.
