I have a question regarding the 'Continue Shopping' button ... this is what I have setup:
I have one page called Shop.aspx that holds my BuyNow module. I have a category called On Sale that is set as the default category for this module. My menu system on the site has pages that are setup to go to shop.aspx?categoryid=x
I have a second page called ProductDetails.aspx that holds the product details module.
I am using the minicart module seperately (this is set to show on all pages in my site).
My problem is as follows: Say I am in the Watches category, and the buy now module is showing me all products in the watches category. I click on a particular product to view the details page. On the details page I click Add to cart - because I am using the seperate mini cart module the page adds the item to the minicart but stays on the details page - this is what I want to happen so far so all good.
Then I decide I want to continue shopping - I would expect to go back to the Watches product listing as that is where I came from, but when I click Continue Shopping, it just takes me back to Shop.aspx, and doesn't remember the category I was in?
Is there a fix for this? I have tried setting the buynow module's default category as all categories in the hope that this may allow for the behaviour I want, but this also doesn't work - it just lists all products in my store.
This is potentially confusing to the user .... is there no way the Continue Shopping button can "remember" what the categoryid was on its referring page, and redirect back accordingly?
And if not, is there another way to achieve this ? I am thinking that I might have to add seperate buynow modules to the various pages I have setup on the site (as opposed to teh current setup outlined above), share the products among them, and then set the default category on each of these accordingly - before I do so, I would liek confirmation if this is the best way to go.
The only problem with the abovementioned solution is I don't know how the minicart module is going to behave (see my other post regarding a bug I picked up with this here : http://www.smith-consulting.com/Forum...
