So, I am continuing to try and find help on my first data issue. According to First Data, the error I am getting...

We couldn't complete your payment.
Status : Unable to resolve the hostname. ERRs: wsa=0 err=11004 ssl=0 sys=11004. INFO: ACE_INET_Addr::ACE_INET_Addr: secure.linkpt.net: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found.
Message : Unable to resolve the hostname. ERRs: wsa=0 err=11004 ssl=0 sys=11004. INFO: ACE_INET_Addr::ACE_INET_Addr: secure.linkpt.net: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found.

In my searching online, I found this statement from the first data global website
http://firstdataglobalgateway.net/api...

Windows COM Object unable to resolve the hostname

Unable to resolve the hostname ERRs: wsa=0 err=11004 ssl=0 sys=11004 INFO:
ACE_INET_Addr:ACE_INET_Addr: secure.linkpt.net

Make sure the correct host name is entered in the config.inc file.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It also states....

This could be a DNS issue, you can try replacing the host name with the IP address for secure.linkpt.net

The First Data payment gateway is extremely difficult to setup and configure it requires a special security certificate be installed in IIS, a PEM file be loaded to your server, ip restrictions and many other setup/config steps. I don't think we can solve your first data gateway issue thru the forum it would require troubleshooting on your server. If you would like one of our techs to assist please purchase a support package here https://www.smith-consulting.com/Forums/Support.aspx

So basically what you're saying is you advertise that Smith Cart works with First DATA, but only if we purchase additional support from you. Doesn't really seem fair and honest. I have a PEM file uploaded, AND I have the SSL installed correctly on the IIS, all of my other shopping carts work just fine with FIrst Data, Authorize.net and others, EXCEPT FOR THIS SITE!

That is not what I am saying, I am saying that the issue is mostly likely a setup/config error on your hosting or server or possibly something in the gateway that needs additional configuration and was a support option for you. If it turns out to be a bug in the latest version of the cart you will not be charged any support credits.

The cart supports 2 different first data integration methods:

1. First Data Linkpoint
2. First Data Web Service

Which one are you using?
