Hi,

I've moved my DNN installation from localhost to our staging server and now Smith Cart's cart page is missing all of it's content. I have checked Firbug console but it's not reporting files missing other than those I know of.

The only thing I can think of now is that there is a setting somewhere that I have missed which will switch it from localhost to live?

Here is a link to see what I mean: http://bit.ly/qaxX1r

Thanks in advance.
James

Hi James,

I took a look at the URL you gave above but I was unable to see any issues. Has this been resolved?

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

I'm not sure how many different ways one can copy a project to a staging server, but this shouldn't have such a negative impact on this product?

We're doing a simple copy and paste to the staging environment which uses the exact same database as the developers use during development.

Regards,
Jacques

Hi Kevin,

My apologies. The first number of items appear on the shop page; it is when you go through the process of buying that the content of the shop goes missing.

Oddly enough, we do not have any problems when we work on localhost but it does happen when we move it to a subdomain on our site. (Which incidentally is just a network server within our office using the exact same database).

We get an error message that I am going to look into now:

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The server tag is not well formed

I am going to look into this first but I see from the conversation you had with Jacques that it could also be a licensing issue?

Will get back to you on the error message.

Cheers,
James

Hi James,

Did you change the alias name in the portal alias db table? If not, Select Admin|Site Settings|Advanced|Portal Aliases and adjust the canonical portal alias to localhost (or your configured portal alias).

Or the issue may be the way the files were copied or the folder path may be different locally than on your live site. If you moved servers and your new server/database uses a different objectqualifier on db objects then you will need to add that to all the objects (tables and stored procs).

To get a development site exactly like your existing site that you can test in first please see the following post on "HOW TO MAKE A DNN SANDBOX TO PLAY IN IN ABOUT 10 MINUTES": http://www.smith-consulting.com/Forum...

Thanks,

Hi Kevin,

The problem has been resolved where Smith Cart goes missing on the buying process pages. Turns out I had a missing " to close an additional style I added. So the shop part is working now.

The only issue we have now is with the yellow license notification which is not going away despite the license keys placed in the root of the site.

I believe you and Jacques are chatting about this at the moment and will catch up with this now.

Cheers,
James
