Hi
I have noticed that SC does not save any data to the DNN profile fields. So, if my users register via SC login / registration page, but forget their email address at a later stage, and then try and use the forgot email function in DNN, they get an error, as their email address was not saved to the DNN profile (along with all other info except their username and password).
And before anyone tells me to tell my users to enter all their info again under the profile manager - my argument is they should not have to - show me any other site on the web where you have to register / fill in your info twice, and perhaps I'll listen to that argument.
This seems to be a MASSIVE flaw - surely mapping this info across to the DNN profile fields at the time of registration should be easy enough to do via a stored procedure - I cannot understand how such a fundamental component of successful DNN site functionality has been overlooked for so long.
Please can you add it to the enhancements queue as a matter of urgency.

Hi Sian,

I believe you are referring to the "Forgot Password" function not the "Forgot Email" function as it will ask you for your User Name to retrieve your password and send the password to the email you registered with, correct? If so, how have you configured your Sign In/Registration Page Setup in the Cart Settings? I have just registered a new user on our test portal with the settings "Show Sign In Page" and "Add To Cart Requires Login" and all the fields are saved in the User's DNN profile, as well as the email to allow the User to retrieve their Password and I had no problem requesting the Password for the account through DNN. Which version of DNN are you running? Screenshots below are from a test portal running DNN 5.6.3 with SmithCart 4.57:

Hi Kevin

I am running 5.6.3 with SC 4.57. You are correct - I meant Forgot Password, not forgot email ... my mistake in the terms there.

I have my cart configured as Show Sign In Page, and Require Login is checked. Add To Cart Requires Login is NOT checked.

This config allows users to browse and add to cart, and only when they are ready to checkout does it prompt them to sign up or login - and it is here that the email is definitely NOT being saved.

I have ticked the Add To Cart Requires Login now as well, and the profile data is being saved. Might I suggest you look into the above config to see why it isn't saving?

Thank you for the help - at least I now have a properly functioning profile side as well.
