I think I may have seen a post concenrning this issue before, but can't remember to I am reposting.

The shipping email template that I have set and configured is not what is being sent when I go into 'Ship Orders' and add a tracking number and hit 'Send Email'.

Although an email with the tracking number does get sent, it is not the one that I have customized.

Using the most recent version of the cart, DNN 5.5.1, sql 2008

Hi Mike,

I just made a purchase, went into the Admin Menu then Manage Orders and added a tracking code and saved the change, then sent the Ship To email and received the same email layout that I had customized from the default template. How does the email you receive differ from the template that was customized?

Thanks,

I sent the two differing examples to your email. See how the template (which should be what the store is using, but isnt) is full; has details, tracking, product info.

The actual email I forwarded you only has the tracking number and product quantity and price (not details)

I am hitting the right button in the Manage Orders screen as well, because when I hit send order email I get the correct order email template. When I hit send ship email, I get the incorrect ship template (not the one I customized)

Hi Mike,

I have not been able to reproduce the same results on our test portal the same Ship Email Template that I have set up and modified is used when a select the "Send Ship Email" from the Manage orders screen. Please see screenshots below:

Thanks,

I'm confirming the problem with 4.50 release if Cart module is uses templates that French characters. Please test with other locales than en-US.

I went through and edited the template again but the same thing is happening. It's sending a template that I don't even have created (some type of stored procedure that is referencing something else other than my ship template?).

My other templates work fine, so I'm not sure why this one isnt. Is this is called procedure or something build into the cart? If the former, can you let me know what the name of the SP is so I can investigate)

Hi Mike,

I know you have upgraded since your post above, is this still an issue?

Thanks,

Issue still exists in 4.57, any chance you want to do a webex so I can show you? Otherwise, you can verify if you want by loggin into our site and visiting our store; your credentials should still be valid.

I think I've found the issue.

From the Manage Orders screen, it does work correctly.

From the Ship Orders screen, it does not. We have our internal staff here add tracking numbers on the ship orders screen to reduce the change that they might goof something up.

Hi Mike,

I believe have found the issue, or at least narrowed down how to replicate it. I have confirmed that when selecting the "Send Ship Email" button in the Ship Orders screen the Cart will not use the Ship To Email Template that is configured in the Admin Menu. I have sent this into programming and the resolution to this issue will most likely be included in v.4.58.

Thanks,

Hi SC,

Please explain whether the Ship Orders section has any function compare to the Manage Orders section.

i.e. is there any reason to give a mail room employee access to Ship Orders and not Manage Orders?

Ship Orders:
Does not show the pay status.
You cannot change the order status to Shipped.

So does it have any use?

Respectfully,
Daniel.

Hi Daniel,

The ship orders screen was programmed and designed to be used by shippers to fulfill orders containing the following information:

  • Customer and shipping order information (view only)
  • Order Detail Information including product sku, product name and quantity
  • Print Picking List button
  • Send Ship Confirmation button

The following fields have edit capability:

  • Ship Date
  • Tracking Number
  • Order Status (only Open & Shipped)

Thanks,
