I am trying out the software and certantly not a programmer.  I have DNN 6 installed locally and am playing with v 4.5 Smith Cart.  I am lost.  I am not understanding what I am to do to get the product variants working correctly.  I keep getting the following error:

A critical error has occurred. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Sometimes the product detail page will work but if I have several variants it doesn't.  I assume this has to do with setting the Styling as mentioned on page 234 of the manual.  Is there a sample of what this is to look like? or how to fix this problem?

Hi Mary,

Are there any errors logged into the Event Viewer? Do you have Variant Groups specified for all of your variant options?

Thanks,

So, you have to have a variant group even when you have select Upload file?  Now, I am getting a different error... where do I set the path for uploaded files?

Hi Mary,

Can you please provide more details about the error you are receiving? Is there anything logged in the event Viewer?

Files are uploaded to the following folder on your server \portals\{portalnbr}\customeruploads\product-name\

Thanks,

The error is "unknown server error".  When I choose a file it is setting a path - C:\fakepath\ then the file name. and then I get the error.  I am testing on my local host.

Where is this "fakepath" coming from?  I am uploading from my desktop.

I need to know if there is a limit on the file types or size that can be uploaded?  We are a print shop, and receive a variety of files.  I am hoping that if we turn the file into a PDF and store with the order.  Our store and the customer need to be able to quickly see what was ordered before so they can easily reorder.  Will that be possible?

Hi Mary,

There should not be a limit on file type or size. Can you conform which version of the Cart you are running, I am not getting the same results on our test portal running v.4.58.

Thanks,

HI Mary,

Are there any error logged in the Event Viewer, also are you running DNN 6.0 or DNN 6.0.1?

Thanks,
