I'm running the latest version of smith cart and dnn. I uninstalled the shopping cart, upgraded to the latest version of dnn, and then reinstalled a fresh copy. I know you are going to say since it works with the default skin that it's my problem, but I have professional designers who create skins for me and this is the third site this has happened to me on. Can I provide you with a project to see if someone can take a look? I don't know what the problem is, but I can't seem to get it to work.
