I installed "SmithCart04.58.00-DNN5" on a site www.martinelectrical.ca hosted by Godaddy. The site was DNN 6.00.00. The install was successful.

When I went to setup the module I could not load the BuyNow module onto a page. I can see it listed in host/extensions but not in the admin/extensions. I thought this might be due to not having the licensing key. So I requested a key and uploaded it to the site. Kevin C has confirmed I've done this properly. I have restarted, recycled, and cleared the cache and still could not see the BuyNow module in the admin section. I could not access the module in host/extensions using the edit button. This gives me the following message "A critical error has occurred. Object reference not set to an instance of the object.”.

I then upgraded the site to DNN 6.00.01 and still no BuyNow module.

At the same time as I was doing this I installed the Smith Cart on another site hosted by PowerDNN. On on the other site the BuyNow module did not install at all. I could see it in the physical DesktopModules folder of the site but no in the admin or host sections or DNN. I uninstalled the module per instructions in the forum including tables and stored procedures in the database. I have not attempted to reinstall the module. On this site I have upgraded to DNN 6.00.01. I

I mention the second site because I recieved both sites license file within 2 minutes of each other. I have matched the license's sent to me to the specific site by using seperate computers for each site. I have the Smith Shopping Cart Manual (286 page) and have setup the cart on a local computer with no issues.

Please help me out here, I have taken the better part of three days and am still no further ahead on the live sites. Can you:

1. Confirm that the licenses have not been mixed up.
2. Tell me if I need to uninstall the module and then reinstall it again
3. Have the correct fill to install  "SmithCart04.58.00-DNN5" is there another for DNN 6

Hi Michael,

One possibility is a timeout install the cart on GoDaddy shared hosting try increasing the maxRequestLength, requestLengthDiskThreshold and executionTimeout values of the httpRuntime node in your application Web.config file.

If you open up resources.zip in the zip package you will see the buynow folder included. If you are doing a clean install make sure that the smith, buynow folder is removed before installing. Also check your dnn event viewer after you install to make sure you dont have any errors or timeouts during install.

Thanks,

Hi Kevin

I have spent a couple of hours manually uninstalling the files and stored procedures from the database on the Godaddy site. I your response do you mean remove the BuyNow folder from the zip file. Or do you mean remove the BuyNow folder from the DesktopModules folder on the webserver?

Hi Michael,

I was referring to the BuyNow module to verify that it was included in the included in the zip file to be installed.

I recommend increasing the maxRequestLength, requestLengthDiskThreshold and executionTimeout values of the httpRuntime node in your application Web.config file. Then doing a clean install of the module using the directions in the following forum post: http://www.smith-consulting.com/Forum...

Thanks,
